Part 1: Joan Smalls vs Kate Upton Two of the absolute best welterweights in the world finally met in the ring on Friday night, both former welterweight champions in their respective organizations.
This fight may have arguably meant more to Joan, who pointed out in the press events that she did nearly get to fight arguably the best pound for pound fighter in the world in Amanda Righetti, that fight didn't take place as Joan had a BBU title defence, this was her big crossover dream fight.
For Kate who has captured the BBU JMDD title, she wants to continue building her brand over here, after defeating Kelly Brook in a war of a series of fights, she has defended that belt twice since then, taking the scalp of one of the most dominant welterweights in the BBU the last three years would be a definite statements.
While they seemed to respect each other, the tension was clear at the touch of gloves, at the bell it was Joan who started the faster, she learned quickly the technique and power Kate processes when she got caught half way through the round with a counter left to the face.
Joan would turn the tides on Kate in the second round, while Kate got off the starting blocks fast, Joan's footwork and hard cross punches gave Upton a taste of what she was in for.
The next two rounds were closely fought, arguably Joan did enough to catch the eye more, though Kate wasn't staying quiet at range herself, getting the crowd on their feet for what was shaping up to be a great fight.
Normally Joan likes to stay at mid range and sometimes on the inside, Kate though was beating her in those exchanges, we saw a more counter punching/outside boxing style on Smalls that was looking like it could get her all the way to a victory.
Problem is once Kate is an opening she normally takes it, in the seventh the American landed to the liver of Joan, who came out for the eight but didn't last much longer as another liver shot put her down to all fours, out for the count more importantly.
It was a shame to see Kate not give Joan much respect, maybe a little too close to call for Kate through the middle rounds for her liking, with Joan showing she can match up with the best pretty well.
Before it sounds like I am taking this victory away from Kate, she looked phenomenal in the ring as usual, once she gets her hooks into you it is hard to stop the Juggernaut that calls herself the Queen.
I'd love a rematch someday between these two, though I suspect both have eyes on other prizes, we know that Kate Upton will be having a grudge match with Tamara Ecclestone on Tamara's yacht for the BBU PPV, that will be a hell of a clash as that rivalry grows.

Part 2: Dannii Minogue vs Holly Hagan We see a lot of clashes between veterans and young fighters, Holly got the chance to fight a true ACB legend when she stepped into the ring with Dannii.
Who it has to be said saw this fight as a tune up in her eyes as she prepares to take on Katya Jones on the next PPV, in fact Dannii wasn't too respectful to Holly over fact the former Geordie Shore star's greatest successes are under JMD rules.
Of course Holly was ready to claim this major scalp, saying that she wants to broaden her reputation in the ring to being an elite flyweight fighter too.
The first round was a good one for setting the stage what was going to happen in the fight, Dannii started the stronger with her jab a thing of beauty even after a decade of fighting, till Holly used some JMD skills (hitting Dannii to her left boob) to start fighting back late in the round.
The tables turned in round two, Holly coming out hot to box back Dannii, who was able to counter punch Holly with less then a minute to go, stopping Hagan in her tracks for the time being.
The rounds followed a similar pattern throughout, one would start off on the front foot, before a mistake or a beautiful dodge and counter turned the momentum the other way.
Round five was the biggest of the fight, Dannii couldn't keep the powerful Holly back off her, after missing with an uppercut a left hook that maybe the best punch of Holly's career so far sent down Minogue for the count of ten.
While people will look at Dannii's age and question is it impressive to defeat her now, remember it is only months ago she knocked out Cheryl Cole for the third time in their feud in only the third round, Dannii still has game to say the least.
Hence this was the biggest non JMD win for Holly, she still has work to do as Dannii gave her a headache with jabs, her rampaging power though puts her somewhat in the same field as Zara Holland and Bonnie Sveen in strong rugged flyweights, more then the traditional stick and move type we have become accustomed to in celebrity female boxing.
Dannii on the other hand must be wondering what shape she will be in for her fight with Katya, it is going to be interesting to see if she can recover for that clash.

Part 3: Sophia Thomalla vs Alesha Dixon This was a fight that was set up last month, after Sophia won her second fight against Clara Morgane, Alesha made it known that she wanted a crack at one of the fastest rising stars in the BBU right now.
As you'd expect their was plenty of ill feeling in the build up, Alesha making sure to tell everyone she was going to batter Sophia's lights out to end this hype train as she saw it.
Well in the opening minute Alesha started on the front foot, outworking Sophia with combos from the off, though she didn't look to be landing too much in reply.
The problems come quickly for Alesha once Sophia switched down to the body, banging away to the abs of the Hall of Famer, the German actress had Alesha herded around the ring where she wanted the fight.
The third round saw Alesha showed a little spark of life, that was quickly drown out by the inside fighting skills of Sophia, who again stuck to the body to make Dixon bend over into brutal punched across her face.
Finally in the fourth round Alesha went down after her nose was busted up, the count was slow which may have actually been worse for her as she got up, which led to her being battered till she went down for the count not long after.
Luckily for Alesha her stable reported to us that her nose is OK, she was routed to be fair in this fight, she has to be more careful it has to be said who she fights, she wants the Herbert Sisters next, that will be interesting to see how she goes in those fights.
While Sophia looked impressive once again, maybe some cockiness on show might come back to bite her if she tries that the higher up the rankings, next on her dance card is Elizabeth Gillies on the PPV, that is a step up it has to be said with Elizabeth being young and in her prime, that will be the litmus test for how Sophia will do in the future.

Final Part: Florence Pugh vs Gina Rodriguez You may know here as Paige from the film "Fighting with the Family" or excited to see her in the next Marvel film "Black Widow" Florence Pugh stepped from the big screen fighting into our BBU ring.
She chose a tough starter for her career, Gina Rodriguez is steeped in boxing, learning from being a child from her dad and trainers he knew, her dad just happened to referee some big fights during his career and she has been in the BBU the past two years.
The odd were on Gina winning, though Florence was an unknown quantity, she has been sparring with Scarlett Johansson we have heard, so how much had she learnt from the two weight FCBA world champion?
Well it was Gina who started the better, Florence showing her nerves fighting for real for the first time; no head guards here, Gina was simply outworking Pugh over the first round.
The second is where we saw what Florence begins to the table, landing some beautiful counter punches, her hand speed looks impressive as when one punch landed another seemed to be following instantly.
Back came Gina strong in the third, putting down Florence with a left hook that had Pugh's corner looking worried for their rookie, she dusted herself up at the count of eight, getting to her feet wanting more.
Though Florence smartly listened to her coach, holding more in the fourth to break the rhythm of Gina, who kept her head to not get upset by the stalling tactics, just focusing on breaking down Pugh.
The fifth saw Florence come back on the front foot at Gina, she landed more body shots to open up Rodriguez, opening up a cut under the right eye of Gina in the sixth.
Where Florence landed a stunning left hook/uppercut combo that sent Gina down for the count, the youngster jumping for joy after getting off the mark right away.
It has to be said it was nice seeing both women show respect as they did from the start to the finish, Gina telling Florence she has a big future ahead.
We will wait to see a little more about Florence before saying that ourselves, it was a great start though and a tougher opening bout then we normally see from fighters, Gina isn't an elite fighter but she is a great gatekeeper arguably.
Gina needs to tighten up a little bit more on her defensive skills, while Florence has some great hand speed and a good base to work off, having Scarlett Johansson as a sparring partner certainly will help her in the long run.
That's all we have time folks, I hope you enjoyed the episode, we will be back next Sunday for the next edition, thank you so much for reading these posts, we hope you stay safe.
