It's easy to say that Olympia Valance and Jessica Lucas have become somewhat the forgotten girls of the division, a win here should propel them back up the crowded division into contention, a loss could see them stay hidden in the fighters clawing to be seen as title worthy.
Career wise Olympia has fought in 12 months when she defeated Fleur East on last years May PPV, for Jessica she has lost her last two in the FCBA, you have to go back two years for her last win against Jessica Marais by referee stoppage in just two rounds, Jessica comes in actually undefeated in the BBU where she got her four wins.
In the backstage area both women were interviewed by BBU TV reporter Georgie Thompson in front of the big blue BBU sign on the wall, first up was Olympia wearing a black dress as she smiled to the camera, after a few pleasantries are exchanged it is down to the main interview.
Georgie starts off by asking why Olympia hasn't fought in a year, the Aussie actress answers "I have been focusing on my acting in all honesty, I have had offers to fight including of course Aussie TV stations wanting to see me and my big sister Holly slug it out but now I feel comfortable with my acting career, I am back to claim titles, whether they be here in the BBU or back in the ACB", Georgie nodding as she listens.
The next question is about why fighting Jessica, Olympia quickly answers "because she is a tough tune up, I'll admit a few short years ago I assumed me and her would be fighting for titles, she has fallen apart though going to America, just shows not everyone can leave their comfort zone and I aim to batter her out of it tonight" showing her fists to prove her point.
The final question is on whether her immediate future is on the BBU or ACB, Olympia smiles as she answers "it's common knowledge I want to fight Tahan Lew-Fatt, so honestly I am looking to head back home to Australia and my main goal is to have a crack at Miranda Kerr for the bantamweight title in the ACB, have two Valance's holding ACB gold to show the world we are the best fighting family in celebrity boxing today" that makes Georgie smile as she wishes her good luck on that goal.
Jessica is next up wearing a red dress with black trim, she waves to the camera with a bubbly smile, Georgie thanking her for her time as Jessica is asked how she is feeling coming into this fight, she admits "it hasn't been an easy time for me lately, anyone who knows me knows I will fight anyone, problem is getting opponent's after losing to Rita Ora of all people, but I feel calm and cool as always, beating Olympia will put me back on the map" Georgie smiling along as she seems to like the Canadian actress.
She is asked how she will take down Olympia, which she answers "body work first and foremost, if you watch the Ridley fight she lost, Daisy laid the ground work then went to the head, I have shown I can work the body as good as any fighter in the world, that's why I am confident I can beat her tonight" Jessica looking excited the more she talks to fight.
Finally she is asked if she will focus on the BBU now, Lucas thinks for a moment before diplomatically answering "as I said I will fight anyone anywhere, if someone from the FCBA wants me on a beach you can be damn sure I will rock a bikini out there, if someone wants me to fist fight in a warehouse you have my number managers" showing her right fist with a nod.
Fight night, first out the curtain comes Olympia with coach Taryn Terrell beside her, Olympia looks in a good mood judging by her wide smile as she heads down the aisle, high fives with some at ringside as she walks around to her side before jogging up the steps to get into the ring.
Olympia is wearing a black sports bra with green trim, matching trunks and shoes, black gloves with green thumbs, her hair is tied into a ponytail as she shadow boxes to warm up, Taryn talking her through what she expects as cut woman Eva Carneiro is all smiles outside the ring.
Jessica heads out now with coach Nicole de Boer behind her, she is looking in an all business mode, banging her gloves together as she stares at the ring, her supporters cheering her on to the ring as Nicole is all smiles hearing the warm reception for her fighter.
Climbing into the ring, Jessica is wearing a red sports bra with white trim, matching trunks and shoes, with white gloves, her hair is braided as she stretches in her corners, eyes locked onto her opponent, Nicole tells her to take down Olympia.
Brought to the center of the ring, both women square up as they stare each other down, referee keeping between them in case tempers flare up, but it seems to be OK when they touch gloves up respectfully, jogging back to their corners as both look ready for this, bell rings to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.
Round 1:
At the bell Olympia right away gets a taste of what Jessica brings as the older woman comes right at her, in tight to work the body of Olympia as promised, with the Neighbours star needing to shove her back to create some space.
After that early blitz Olympia is able to settle things down with stiff double jabs popping Lucas into her face, moving around the outside part of the ring with her eyes slightly narrowed as you can see the focus on Valance's face, getting clipped with punches around her body is much more comfortable then that early assault she took.
But Jessica won't be deterred so easily, she steps inside after ducking a straight to hammer in two left hooks to the body, then an uppercut to the abs as she presses Olympia onto the ropes, where the Aussie clinches up looking frustrated already and we still have half the round to go.
When they resume Olympia seems to catch Jessica's attention with a counter right as she steps back out the way of a right to her body, a double jab pounds the top of the Canadian's head as Olympia now finds second gear it looks like, drilling in more punches in bunches as she can't let Jessica off the hook so easily.
While Jessica has some success getting in closer to work, Olympia controls most of the later half of the round through pure work rate, at the bell both raise an arm in the air claiming they won the round, already there's an air of tension between the fighters judging by their looks at each other as they return to their stools.
Round 2:
Stepping out her corner realising she doesn't want a repeat of the first round, Olympia uses her reach better to pepper the face of Jessica, up on her toes as Jessica moves her upper body more along with using more feints to try to find the openings to strike, it is an early chess match to see who gets on top of things.
Stepping under a jab Jessica lands an overhand left to the cheek of Olympia, who misread the situation as she moves her right down to block a body punch that didn't come, instead the Aussie stunner finds herself shoved into hostile territory as she is against the Team Canada corner, Nicole barking at Jessica to f**k her up as Jessica pounds away to the body till she is held onto.
Referee splits them up with Jessica right into her opponent's face right away again, forcing some heated exchanges that she seems to be getting the better of as Valance isn't enjoying having to fight so close, especially when Lucas starts to use little nudges to get her out of her rhythm.
Final minute to go and Olympia is finding herself covering up as she is herded near the ropes, Jessica working hard to keep her there with sweeping hooks and straight punches flying in, Jessica looking in a determined mood tonight to get back on the winning side of things.
When the bell rings Jessica pounds her chest with her right glove as she jogs back to her corner, getting a thumbs up from Nicole for a great round, Olympia meanwhile being told to fight smarter, she is letting Jessica rough her up too easily for Taryn's liking.
Round 3:
Back out they come with eyes locked as they again try to gain control early on, Jessica taking several clean straight shots to her face as she is a little too keen to close the gap, Olympia happy to rifle two to three punches at a time into that beautiful face of her opponent's.
Once again though Jessica's made of stern stuff as she dips under a jab to pound a straight into the side of Olympia's body, then follows up with an overhand right that is partially blocked this time around, a left cross catches Jessica across the top of her head to give her pause for thought.
Olympia gets things back at a comfortable range as she throws several one-two combos at Jessica, not all land flush but they are giving her somewhat a breather from the constant attacks, Taryn is almost breathing her own sigh of relief as she tells her fighter to keep this up.
Going into the final minute of the round though sees Jessica catch Olympia with an uppercut that pushes her onto her heels, Jessica pounding back her opponent with hard swings, the crowd is roaring as they now watch Jessica pin Olympia back into a neutral corner, Valance shelling up to protect herself up until the bell rings.
Returning to her corner with an icy expression, Jessica isn't celebrating till she has her arm raised, Nicole giving her praise for keeping the work rate up under the volume of jabs coming back at her, Olympia meanwhile looks ready to scream out as Taryn calms her down, talking through tactics as Olympia fist bumps her to show she will do as told.
Round 4:
Coming out exchanging stiff shots to start, Olympia is coming in closer but to use her left forearm or shoulder to bump back her opponent, she is starting to fight like a bigger woman as she is forcing Jessica back, the beautiful Canadian looking annoyed now as her expression changes from stern for the first time in the fight.
Landing some good body shots in return, Jessica wants to pay Olympia back for the roughhouse tactics, problem for her is she focuses too much on the body and when Olympia nudges her back this time a right hook catches Jessica on her chin to turn her head around.
The tables have turned as Olympia now controls the middle of the ring, landing more punches through the mitts of her opponent, who is gamely looking to close the gap but is being beaten back to range, her face is being marked up now under the assault of Valance.
Jessica does get inside after half the round is gone, landing a good left/right hook combo to the reddening body of Olympia, she gets clipped behind her left ear with two short rights as both women end up clinching up, Jessica now roughing up Olympia by forcing her head under her opponent's chin to walk her back onto the ropes.
Broken up by the referee, Olympia strikes first with a double jab between the eyes of Jessica, moving back out the way of a right hook as she then lands a counter straight onto the nose of Lucas to snap her head back, at the bell it is a much better round from Valance after a bad run there.
Round 5:
Tapping her cheeks before she steps out her corner, Jessica refocuses herself before she comes back out to fight, stepping in more behind her jab to the abs of Olympia, Jessica is being timed coming in more as rights slam across her brow to make her think twice about staying in close.
First minute goes by with neither really imposing themselves on the action, till Olympia feints with a jab then sidesteps when Jessica tries to sneak under it to get in close, instead a right hook to the temple wobbles Lucas! A LEFT THEN RIGHT HOOK LANDS ON THE BUTTON AS JESSICA TUMBLES STRAIGHT ONTO HER BACK!
Olympia clenches her fists as she mouths "yes" in jubilation at putting down Jessica, 1...2...3... Jessica's eyes are open but nobody really seems to be home, 4...5...6... She is just staring at the lights as her gumshield hangs out her mouth, 7...8...9...10 that's it! Jessica is out!

After:
Hard fought win there for Olympia that should knock some rust off her, she leans between the top and middle ropes to look into a nearby camera as she says "Tahan I hope you are watching, that's you next" winking before she gets back through the ropes, then returns to her corner with a big smile adorning her angelic face.
Jessica on the other hand is slowly helped to sit up as the ringside doctor checks her over, that temple shot really buzzed her before those two hooks just butchered her, Jessica gets a round of applause when she is helped to stand but she looks clueless what is happening.
With help Jessica is taken out the ring and led to the back for tests, it's a shame it ended so hard for her because she looked good tonight, problem is how many times can you fight well and not pick up the result before you lose faith in yourself.
In the Girls Friday corner Olympia gets washed down by Eva as Taryn tells her "that should get you ready for the summer, at least I know these can take a hit" tapping the back of her right hand against Olympia's abs, causing her fighter to hiss then grin.
Once she is ready the winner comes to the middle of the ring for the final result to be announced, Olympia gets her right hand raised by the referee, she blows a kiss to the camera with a wink as she gets a loud cheer from her supporters.
Soon it's time for her to leave the ring as Taryn and Eva follow, looks like we won't see Olympia on British soil for awhile as she has some business to take care of back home, starting with Tahan Lew-Fatt, who will surely have something to say on the challenge thrown her way, that looks like it will be a grudge fight by the call outs and social media taunts thrown by both women.
