This week we look at two fighters who in their prime were some of the best lightweights the BBU ever saw, surprisingly they never fought! Let's start in the proverbial red corner with Lisa Maffia, the singer has had a storied history and in the ring controversy seems to follow her to a degree with stipulation matches, in her prime though she was one of the best in all of Britain, being the first BBU fighter to win gold in two weight divisions in their career.
In terms of who she has shared the ring with Katy Perry, beaten future FCBA hall of famer Mary Elizabeth Winstead, fellow BBU hall of Famer Alesha Dixon and former bantamweight champion Alice Eve to name just a small amount of the long list of top fighters she toppled.
Her style is based around her footwork from her singing background, she had one of the most fearsome jabs in her era, today while it isn't as good as it was, she can still disrupt opponent's at range with her hand speed now.
Her weakness is of course that she isn't as fast as she was, with now focusing a little more on brawling, which she can do but she isn't the best at taking a hit now after so many wars, her chin isn't the greatest with how it has been worn down.
Now to Aussie actress Poppy in our blue corner, some may forget the early days of the ACB that Poppy was one of the faces of the lightweight division, winning their title back in 2013, she has also come to our neck of the woods to win the BBU lightweight title.
In her career she has fought the likes of Mary Elizabeth Winstead herself, she also has wins over Jenny McCarthy and Katie Holmes, she has boxed in the ACB, BBU and FCBA in her legendary run.
Style wise she prefers to get in close, with fearsome power on her best day, she can box but I guess she preferred the up close and personal approach, with a power punching approach.
Like Lisa she isn't the fastest across the boards now with a weaker chin, if you can keep her at arms length then you can subdue her.
