Part 1: Baskin Champion vs Marloes Horst We kicked off the week with lightweight action, several fighters were watching the fight between American Baskin Champion and Marloes Horst, the BBU Arena hosted this international clash, Baskin went in without a win to Marloes two wins in four fights.
The opening two rounds saw Marloes on the front foot, bashing back Baskin towards the ropes, the American suffered a bloody nose in the second round, before being put down as it looked like it could have been a quick night for Marloes.
But Baskin smartly kept on the defensive during the third round, Marloes maybe was trying to prove a point after her last fight, she kept swinging and missing, which slowly allowed Champion to counter punch her way back into the contest.
Body attacks started to switch things around as Baskin rocked back Marloes, punches from the Dutch fighter missed as she was shocked by the aggression from the American, leading to Marloes being put down in the fifth; while Marloes beat the count, she didn't last much longer though as Horst found an uppercut on her chin to send her back for the count.
This was a big upset for Baskin, getting her first win after struggling in her first two fights, maybe this is the catalyst for her to find her feet in boxing, she called out the undefeated Brookes Nader, that doesn't seem a smart idea though.
For Marloes, well she continues to struggle, maybe it's down to confidence, she had Baskin banged to rights but instead of just keep mauling the younger fighter, she tried to take her head off instead, if she does fight Yasmin Verheijen in a clash of Dutch models, it could be a long night for her on this form.

Part 2: Belen Rodriguez vs Ann-Katherin Brommel This was the most important fight of the week on paper, Ann-Katherin Brommel is hoping to earn her way into a BBU lightweight title fight, Belen herself is after a title shot but arguably came into the fight behind Ann-Katherin in the title race, could she drag back the German fighter and pass her by.
Going into the ring both were tense as they knew the stakes at hand, even Ann-Katherin's coach Gina Wild looked ready to bite her nails as she watched the fighters meet up for the face off before the bell, once the action kicked off in frantic style as Belen looked to take the fight to her opponent, she got pegged back though by the end of the first two rounds.
It took till the fourth round for Belen to find her groove, pounding back Ann-Katherin when she caught her with several good clean shots to her face, the next few rounds went to Belen as both women were going in hard, so much so they were wrestling as tempers started to flare up.
One punch changes a fight, this time it was a brutal right hook on the chin of Belen, she was hurt as Ann-Katherin became a predator in the ring as she battered back the Argentine fighter till down went Rodriguez for the count, giving Brommel the all important win she wanted.
Now it looks like Ann-Katherin will get her shot at the BBU lightweight title against Miranda Kerr, while Kerr on paper is the favourite, Brommel's battles through her career of highs and lows might have build her up for this moment.
Belen meanwhile continues to look great when she goes on the front foot, if you get in her face she wilts badly, this was another fight where she proved that fact, she seems to be becoming a yard stick in the division of who should get a shot at the lightweight title.

Part 3: Marnie Simpson vs Sayumi Michishige Over the past few years the Geordie Shore alumni Marnie Simpson has been doing a tour of Japan, she got a chance to fight a Japanese fighter back on home soil in London, Sayumi it seems wasn't too impressed by Marnie as they stepped into the ring together, eyes locked straight away as Sayumi was given the task of bringing back pride to the Front Street Japan stable when it comes to beating Marnie.
The fight kicked off with Marnie showing a little too much confidence, tapping her chin to taunt Sayumi early on, problem was Sayumi was happy to take the fight to her, jabbing through the open guard of Simpson to snap her head back, Hamada in Sayumi's corner was smiling at the end of the opener.
The next two rounds saw not too much improve for Marnie, she landed several good clean shots, problem for her was Sayumi was motivated to bring the fight to her, the body assault Marnie was suffering certainly seemed to take her off her game as she was being backed up to the ropes.
That seemed to finally light a fire in Marnie, who come roaring out in the fourth with several clean haymaker shots that finally rattled Sayumi, who gamely wanted to keep stuck in, it led to her being put down as several punches landed around the Japanese stars temples.
Up got Sayumi and she bravely stepped out to fight in the next round, Marnie smashed right through her though with a flurry of hard hitting punches, down went Michishige for the count, Marnie beating another Front Street Japan star.
It was far from perfect from Marnie, she has to get out of the taunting routine as we have seen great fighters be upset by opponent's because of their egos, hopefully she doesn't become one of those fighters, she should be campaigning for titles and maybe could look at big money fights like against Cheryl Cole in a Geordie derby clash.
For Sayumi, she looked great at first but wilted badly when the power shots come in, maybe a little too early for her to fight a fighter the caliber of a Marnie, she has skills that could make her a viable long term replacement for Mikie Hara as the lead of the Front Street Japan flyweights.

Final Part: interview with Cheryl Cole Tom: So with the 10th anniversary of the Lioness Club stable coming up very soon, we wanted to get one of it's most legendary members onto the show, please welcome the former BBU flyweight champion Cheryl Cole!
(Cheryl comes on screen wearing a black T-shirt with a white lioness head badge on with "ten years of greatness" in white written underneath)
Cheryl: hi Pet, I hope you are doing wonderful there, thank you for having me on the show.
Tom: it's our pleasure, first I hope your stable are selling that shirt, secondly how are things at the stable with such a landmark event coming up?
Cheryl: well we will be selling these are the 10th anniversary card, so get your money out Tom and buy one, no freebies here haha, we are all excited here to be part of history, I was obviously brought in with my Girls Aloud band mates and I can only speak for myself when I say it has been an amazing journey.
Tom: as you mention you with Nicola (Roberts), Sarah (Harding), Kimberley (Walsh) and Nadine (Coyle) were all trades to the Lioness Club stable, can you remember the feeling when that took place, were you nervous going to a new stable or was it just another test for you to overcome?
Cheryl: I can't explain why the Kear's Kat's got rid of us haha, seriously though the management team of the Lioness Club we heard at the time wanted us badly, there were plenty of discussions and when we moved stables I won't lie, that first day walking through the gym doors into a new setting I had butterflies, quickly those disappeared as they made sure we knew how important we were to them.
I wouldn't have been able to win the flyweight title without the backing of the bosses, all the coaching from Melanie (Brown) and even Gina (Wild) helped me become the boss you see today, though I always had the talent to be a champion.
Tom: over the last few short years the stable has changed a little since you first joined, do you prefer the stable now to when you first joined, is there anyone you wish was still in your stable?
Cheryl: hmm interesting question, honestly we are as strong as ever, while I want to be the flyweight champion myself, Ewelina (Lisowska) has done a great job for example, we now have Abigail (Ratchford) within our ranks, Romee (Strijd) doing great in her American travels, so we are doing amazing.
Who would I still want in the stable, only one I care enough about is Emma Bunton, she is such a sweetheart and I think would have been great to have coaching here, beyond that we are in great shape here.
Tom: so can you give us a hint of who you will be facing on the anniversary card?
Cheryl: for now it's a secret, we want to entertain our fans with some great fights, don't worry you will be entertained, I will of course win and anyone who wants a crack at me afterwards, well they can bring it on for all I care.
Tom: Thank you so much for your time Cheryl, I know you will be training the rest of the day so I won't keep you any longer.
Cheryl: yeah I have a punch bag to kick the crap out of haha, thanks for giving me the time to speak.
Tom: that's all we have time for folks, we hope you enjoyed these posts, thank you so much for taking your time to read them, we will be back on our usual Sunday morning slot.
