First rankings of the year sees multiple changes, starting off with a new number one ranked fighter, after beating Ewelina Lisowska and Diana Korkunova, Ivana Baquero has moved to the top spot in our rankings, the BBU flyweight champion has had a hell of a rise when you consider this time last year she wasn't in the rankings.
Other winners from the last set of rankings are Karen Gillan entering the top ten by beating Josephine Skriver, then beating Damaris Lewis to knock her out the top ten and claim the BBU welterweight title for herself, Hailey Clauson meanwhile continues in our eyes to be the best fighter going under peoples radars, she continues to notch up victories in the BBU.
The biggest winner though is Sophia Thomalla, she gets into the top ten at the number two spot, beating Charlotte Church to win the BBU bantamweight title, was followed just a week ago by her defeating the then undefeated Maisie Smith, this unbeaten fighter could very well be number one by our next top ten rankings as she has looked unstoppable in the ring.
Big losers from last time are Charlotte Church, who drops ironically from second to ninth, partly down to not being as active as her fellow champions and that defeat, Charlotte still looks a force in the JMD division, so expect her to bounce back again.
Several former champions dropped out the rankings altogether, Damaris Lewis was joined by former BBU flyweight champion Diana Korkunova, Daisy Ridley also dropped out, all three though have proven they can be elite fighters in their divisions before, so don't write them off challenging for titles this year.
So that's our rankings, we understand they'll probably be debate over this top ten, we'd love to hear those opinions, our next set of rankings will be up in May, so keep your eyes open for those.
