8. Olympia Valance W/L: 5-1
9. Ewelina Lisowska W/L: 4-1
10. Maisie Smith W/L: 4-1
Breakdown:
*Flyweight: 30%*
*Bantamweight: 30%*
*Lightweight: 20%*
*Welterweight: 20%*
I know I must sound a broken record when it comes to these rankings each time, but three months really does change a lot in the the BBU, in February we had Ivana Baquero at number one, before that was Olympia Valance, this time the undefeated BBU bantamweight champion Sophia Thomalla takes the top spot, something some people will say is long overdue, battering Maisie Smith and Vicky Pattison's title challenges away, the champion looks set to keep impressing this year though maybe the top spot is proving a poisoned chalice.
We have three new faces in the rankings, two new champions and a title contender, while Maisie lost her big title shot against Sophia, she has had a great strength of schedule that just gets her into the top ten, if she can get back in the ring soon and really push on, then maybe we'll see her slowly threaten for the number one ranking.
The two champions we mentioned are the two Holly's, the first to win gold was Holly Peers, who smashed aside Miranda Kerr to claim the lightweight title, the other being Holly Hagan, who earned a title shot by beating Marnie Simpson, she followed by taking the title from Ivana Baquero, along with her impressive rebuild in the flyweight division over the past year pushed Holly right near the top.
Karen Gillan meanwhile isn't just popular with BBU fans, she has taken the welterweight division by storm, that long journey to the top has seen her add Toni Garrn's name to her CV after a successful defence of the welterweight title, Karen will most likely be defending her welterweight title sooner then later, she will be pushing Sophia for the next few months.
Now to the biggest losers in spots between the rankings, we have already mentioned Ivana, her stablemate Olympia Valance also dropped down after losing her ACB bantamweight title to Elisha Herbert in a shock result, any unification plans for the BBU title went out the window with that fight for her.
Former champions Miranda Kerr and Charlotte Church were booted out the rankings, a mix of a lack of fights along with poor records over the last year saw them leave the top ten for the first time in a long time, Charlotte Church especially has been a stalwart these past two years in the rankings, so don't expect she'll be out them for too long if she has anything to do with it.
We should mention before we finish our round up, there will be big ranking implications either this month or maybe next, the fight between BBU lightweight champion Holly Peers and the BBU Italian lightweight champion Valentina Fradegrada will have big ramifications for these rankings as well as the lightweight division, the winner very well might jump to the top of the rankings, the loser will be looking over their shoulders at other fighters wanting their spot.
