Sirens: Atlantis PPV predictions
Hey guys, it's been awhile since I have done a prediction post, with the amount of cards that come out, it is hard to keep up, but I have been asked to do this review from BBU management, while Denise Van Outen is busy.
So without further or do, let's get down to the brass tacks on this five fight card.
Petra Nemcova vs Laura Barriales:
Where was Petra all my life! A 5'11 stunner who won her BBU debut against Jennifer Lamriaqui in just four rounds, though Jennifer had lost all her three fights leading into that fight, so it should have been expected some would say
Laura meanwhile has one win and one loss to her career, but starting against Miriam Leone can be a hard measuring stick for anyone in their career, she did smoke Jenny Frost by a KO in the seventh round.
Physically both are rangy fighters being 5'11, but judging by the fights we can go off, Petra does look the harder puncher of the two and Jennifer's chin has been shown to be suspect already, smart money goes on Petra to continue her unbeaten run.
My Prediction: Petra Nemcova
Mathilde Goehler vs Ann-Kathrin Brommel
Mathilde comes into this fight with an overall record of 1 win (1ko) and 1 loss in her career, she's only 22 so has lots of time to learn the craft, though with inter stable rivalry as tough in the Sirens, she'll have to learn fast.
Ann-Kathrin has a 2 wins (2kos) and 1 loss on her record, the German is seen as one of the brightest fighters in the Black Eagles boxing stable and wins against Laury Thilleman and Rosie Huntington Whiteley.
This is possibly the hardest fight to pick from as neither girl has proven world beaters yet per say but there is potential in both.
I'm going Mathilde, purely on coaching as Gina Wild has proven her faults and I'll give Sirens coaching a pass till I see more from them, though I'd have picked this fight at a later date in Mathilde's career to be honest.
My Prediction: Mathilde Gohler
Hailey Clauson vs Zoe Hawkins
OK so while I gave Sirens a pass in the last fight, this is where I have to be cruel to be kind, Hailey is young, beautiful and fit, but holds a record of 0 and 2 at the moment due to a high risk strategy failing.
First she fought Bo Krsmanovic, who while has a negative record, is a powerhouse, is young and experienced now, then there was Toni Garrn, another girl in the Hailey mould but proved the better version with a knockout win.
Her opponent Zoe though is interesting to say the least, she won her one and only fight against Sophie Howard, a major win for the Page Three stable considering it's history with Sophie.
But she barely got the job done, showing she wasn't the fittest girl, more a powerhouse in the early rounds but not built for a marathon it seems, that fight was 5 years ago!
So we have to give Sirens credit for picking someone who maybe should have been first on the list for Hailey, it's up to her now! We give her this fight but a bad performance or loss and the climb up the ladder will become on hell of a trek!
My Prediction: Hailey Clauson
Danielle Robertson vs Ming Xi:
Again Danielle has been seriously overmatched to start her career, 0 and 2, she lost her debut to former "Queen of the Ice Hotel" champion Kelly Rohrbach in America, then Amy Willerton in the UK.
There are many older fighters still lumbering around that Danielle could have put out of their misery for the record, but it seems the Sirens like to feed their girls to fighters either way up the food chain.
Ming Xi is a rookie, so this is either going to be perfect or this is going to be one hell of an upset! She works out from what we can gather but lacks the training time Danielle has had in an actually gym for a fight.
So if Danielle doesn't win, either Ming is a talent hidden from us all or Robertson should take up a less physical sport.
My Prediction: Danielle Robertson
The Main event! Diana Korkunova vs Danielle Sharp
Diana is one of my picks to make a name for herself in the BBU this year, she's 1 for 2 in the ring, her impressive win over Frankie Bridge wiped some of the bad taste a loss to Emily Ratajkowski gave her.
But she is taking on another girl I loom forward to seeing in the ring in Danielle Sharp, she is the latest page three signing and while this is her debut, we have to admit to having a sweet spot for her from our interview with her at the end of last year.
Hmm this is tricky to go on as well due to the lack of knowledge on how one fights, this appears to be classic speed vs power though if their builds are anything to go off.
We have to go with Diana, though again we have to wonder why the Sirens would pick a potential banana skin so early in their fighters careers, this should be an exciting main event, but one that blows up in their faces.
My Prediction: Diana Korkunova
Hopefully you guys catch this event in a couple of weeks as the year begins to heat up and so does the action in the BBU.
