Tom Hilton:Hello ladies and gentlemen, I hope everyone had a wonder holiday and got what they were after this Christmas, while we begin our fourth year here in the BBU, where does the time fly? To mark that this is our first episode of the year, we are doing a special recap episode that highlights the big news stories of the past 12 months. We'll be bringing them down into four parts over the course of this episode, so hopefully for our newer viewers you get up to speed with how we got to where we are right now, while older viewers enjoy reminders of how 2018 was a very special year for many a fighter. We hope 2019 will be full of wonderful moments in the ring, while we hope you our viewers have an amazing year in your personal lives.

Part 1: January to March The year started off big; the first ever Contender 6 tournament saw 6 flyweights look to earn a shot at Cheryl Cole later in the year in one of the most gruelling tournaments around due to it's round robin nature.
Jenna Louise Coleman, Stephanie Davis, Tiffany Mulheron, Lily Allen, Heidi Range and Diana Korkunova were the participants, with lots of great fights kicking the tournament off, which we'll discuss more in our next part.
We always saw a rebirth of sorts with the Marti's Maulers stable, they were a stable that was starting to be seen as a lower tier stable due to an over reliance on older stars.
Boy did that change! In came the likes of Sydney Craven, Tilly Keeper and Jasmine Armfield, while Sara Cox, Pollyanna Woodward and Natasha Hamilton were booted out the door to make Marti Maulers the youngest stable in the BBU.
Title wise saw our first major upset of the year, Helen Flanagan; who'd been an average fighter for a lot of years, suddenly became the bantamweight champion by disposing the seemingly unstoppable Lea Seydoux.
We also saw the start of Joan Smalls run as the welterweight champion, defeating her frenemy Jourdan Dunn to win a tournament to crown a new champion after Erika Haynatz vacated the belt to focus on America.
While we would see a major chance in the JMD division, Holly Hagan took the BBU title from Rosie Jones in dominate style, making people wonder if she could be the face of the division.

Part 2: April to June Talking of tournaments; the year before had seen a tournament with 8 possible challengers for the BBU bantamweight title, many were probably in shock that Lea Seydoux wasn't the one awaiting them if they won.
Rachel Riley and Nadia Forde both fought a spirited fight in the final, Nadia won with a knockout but she had to wait till July for her shot.
As Jennifer Metcalfe had signed a deal to fight Helen Flanagan for the title, Helen looked great to retain her title, with thoughts on Helen being a lucky champion beginning to turn.
The Contender 6 meanwhile got into it's final run, Tiffany Mulheron would go on to win the tournament, though ironically she lost her last fight in what was the fight of the tournament against Diana Korkunova.
Could she complete what was the Cinderella comeback story? Sadly for her fans she couldn't, Cheryl Cole would remind everyone why she is the standard in the division with a super performance against a gutsy Tiffany.
In the lightweight division, Alessandra ruled the roost after beating the formerly unbeaten Elisabetta Gregoraci, which was just a sign of things to come for the Brazilian model.
The JMD title changed hands once again; Lacey Banghard dethroned Holly Hagan in a shockingly strong performance, Holly who had made a statement beating Rosie Jones was the one being used to do the same by Lacey.

Part 3: July to September July is always a special time in the celebrity boxing world, the BBU, FCBA and ACB all band together to make some very special fights.
One such fight was the BBU lightweight champion Alessandra taking on at the time the FCBA lightweight champion Yvonne Strahovski, it was an absolute war that ended in a 10th round knockout, Alessandra Ambrosio won this time to tie up what is becoming a very personal feud.
We also got Michelle Rodriguez, Eva Longoria and Holly Valance making appearances over June in some fun fights.
The big storied though were Helen Flanagan adding Nadia Forde to her list of defences, Joan Smalls beat Tasmin Egerton and Alessandra Ambrosio would defeat another undefeated fighter in Dua Lipa.
But the biggest story of the year begun in August, like two big cats prowling; Kate Upton came to the BBU after Kelly Brook called her out, leading to the start of a best of 5 series to round out a feud that was nearly over a decade in the making.
Body paint and Beach boxing made up the first two fights in the series, with both winning a fight each to show how tight things were going to be between the two.
To top off September for Kelly Brook, she won the BBU JMDD title off the wonderful Hayley Atwell, who was an awesome champion and someone I expect will get the title back in future.

Final Part: October to December All through the year we were getting a taste of the new girls in the BBU, the one who really stood out was Sydney Cravan, who had defeated Samia Ghadie early in her career, ended the year by defeating Frankie Bridge to earn our rookie of the year.
Watch out for fighters like her, Dua Lipa and I'll throw in Sophie Turner with Diana Korkunova to make runs at titles this year, all super talented youngsters who have the world at their feet.
Title wise Cheryl Cole continues to show why she is the pound for pound queen around the BBU, adding Marnie Simpson in the Geordie derby.
While Joan Smalls defeated Toni Garrn to solidify her claim on the welterweight title, though Vogue Williams also has been making noise for the title as she ended the year strong by defeating her domestic rival Rozanne Purcell.
The two biggest title stories though to end the year was Alessandra Ambrosio breaking the all time record for BBU lightweight title defences, beating the last record holder Lisa Maffia to do so.
While Doda finally became the bantamweight champion, the woman who could have become the greatest celebrity fighter not to win gold did so by knocking out Helen Flanagan, ending one of the best stories of the year with somewhat a whimper if you like Flanagan.
Meanwhile Kate Upton and Kelly Brook put on several match of the year candidates, I have had fighters, managers and other pundits have said this was one of the greatest series of fights in celebrity boxing history.
In the end Kate Upton emerged victorious in the series by beating Kelly in their final match, an Ironwoman rules match that was simply brutal from start to finish.
So that's the end of the show, hopefully this episode has helped out our viewers and I hope you'll join us next Sunday as the Real View is official back every Sunday.
