Intro:
A battle between England and America kicks off the year for Jenna Louise Coleman and Rooney Mara, fighting in the BBU Arena in Cardiff.

Jenna is 32 years old; she stands 5'2 and holds a record of 51 wins, 48 by knockout, with 12 defeats and 1 draw, she is a former BBU flyweight champion and a former FCBA JMD champion.

Rooney is 33 years old; she stands 5'3 and holds a record of 2 wins, both by knockout and 1 defeat.

Both were interviewed at their gyms before the fight, Jenna full of smiles as she sees Denise Van Outen come towards her, the two shaking hands before they speak.

When asked what this fight is to her, Jenna tells Denise "Rooney is a good test, one I feel shouldn't be too much trouble, she'll give me a workout though"

The next question is about her plans for the year, she answers "it's been too long since I held a flyweight title, I don't care if it's here or in the FCBA, I need to remind the world that I'm the best"

The final question is about Sophia Bush, Jenna crinkles her nose as if a bad smell has come into the gym, she says "that bytch will get beating she deserves soon enough"

Rooney meanwhile is busy sparring with her sister, both really going hard as Rooney shoves Kate to the ropes to go to work on her just before the bell rings to end the session, doesn't look much love as they stare at each other before bumping fists to show respect to their sibling.

After stepping out the ring, Rooney keeps it simple; she tells Denise "I'm going into that ring looking to use Jenna to make a statement, she is supposed to be the best, well I am going to prove I'm the best"

Rooney then heads past Denise, who looks like she wants to ask more questions, but Kate just shrugs her shoulders at her as she passes by.

Fight night; out comes Jenna with her coach Nicole Ritchie, she is looking relaxed as she heads down to the ring with a cheeky grin, nodding to her fans as she gets a loud cheer from them.

She is wearing her traditional Tardis blue sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and boots, while her hair is up in ponytail.

Climbing into the ring; Jenna bows to each side of the ring, looking excited to be back in a BBU ring after several months away, warming up as she chats with Nicole.

Rooney comes out next with her sister Kate behind her, the American looks her stone cold self when she is in fight mode, eyes locked onto the ring as she heads towards it.

She is wearing a black sports bra, black trunks with a red dragon pattern across them, red gloves and black shoes, her hair is braided for battle.

Getting into the ring; Rooney gives Jenna a hard stare before she heads over to her corner, Kate speaking to her as she warms up about what she needs to do.

When both women come to the center of the ring, nose to nose go the girls as their eyes are locked in an intense stare down.

As they are told to touch gloves, they thud them together before turning to head back to their corners, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:
Both fighters start off trading single punches, testing each other out as Jenna and Rooney have their eyes locked.
It's Rooney who looks to apply the pressure first, Jenna though slips under a right to come up with an overhand right across her American opponent.
Rooney is looking a little too keen to prove herself here, mostly missing with her punches as Jenna dodges then counter punches her.
With Jenna showing why she is one of the elite in the BBU, looking slick as she is outboxing her opponent, keeping away from the ropes as Rooney tries to herd her onto them.
Late in the round it seems like Mara is realising she can't force the issue, falling back behind her jab as things settle down.
The bell rings with Rooney getting told off her sister to relax, Rooney nods as it is much more relaxed in the Lookout! Corner after a strong opening round for Jenna.
Round 2:
The fighters start off where they left off the last round, bobbing and weaving around each other as they look for openings.
Rooney surprises Jenna with a feint with the left, the real right cross smacks the English star across her face to open her up.
Now Rooney can move in close to slam in two more punches into the face of Jenna, who covers up as Rooney comes on the front foot.
Jenna manages to fire out her guard with several punches catching her opponent to the face, but she misses with a left cross, ending up taking a right under her ribs to make her groan.
The momentum has switched to the American, who is staying close enough to Coleman to stop her dodging as much, instead several punches drill into the face of the Brit to back her to the outside of the ring.
Late in the round; Jenna nudges Rooney back with a left to the face, with both women starting to let their hands go till the bell rings to end the round.
The fighters both head to their corners; with Rooney looking more confident, Kate telling her to keep pressing Jenna back to force mistakes from her.
Round 3:
Jenna it looks like wants to step up a gear, coming in close to slam two punches to the body, SHE GETS NUDGED WITH A LEFT TO THE FACE, A RIGHT HOOK CATCHES JENNA TO THE CHIN TO SEND HER TUMBLING TO HER BACKSIDE!
Nicole yells at Jenna, angry to see her get caught so easily, 1...2...3...4.. Jenna shakes her head as she rubs her jaw, 5...6...7.. Before she begins to push herself to her feet to beat the count.
The referee checks Jenna before letting them continue, Jenna tries to pay back Rooney for her mistake, but is getting caught with two hooks across her face to wobble her.
Jenna clinches up with Rooney, who is desperate to break free as she senses weakness in the former champion, the referee is needed though to pull them apart.
With Jenna now stuck on the defensive, Rooney stalking her around the ring, looking to break open the guard so she can end this fight now.
But Jenna shows off impressive upper body movement to dodge punches, till she gets caught to the body with two punches as Rooney gets into her face.
With the final moments of the round seeing Jenna's bottom lip getting cut open by a right cross, Mara driving her onto the ropes as her fans urge her to end things.
The bell rings though with Rooney giving Jenna a death stare, before turning to go back to her corner knowing she has taken a massive step forwards in this fight.
Round 4:
Jenna shockingly still looks a little shaken, Rooney stalking her around the ring as both women trade jabs, the American though is looking to open up her opponent.
Ending up with Rooney timing her attack, lashing a right hook to the side of Jenna's head, opening her up to two more punches that knock her head back.
Jenna ends up on the ropes; Rooney going to work on the body as Jenna covers up top, it's clear that Jenna is uncomfortable under this pressure.
With the former Doctor Who star needing to drag Rooney into a tight clinch, they grapple with each other along the ropes as Rooney tries to break free, the referee warning both to keep things clean.
Once told to continue, Rooney is sticking to Jenna; forcing her to fight in close range as Mara is trying to force the issue with her more experienced opponent.
A right smacks into the bottom lips of Coleman, opening her up to more punches that knock the English fighter back around the outside of the ring.
The round ends with frankly a shut out for Rooney, who even allows herself a small smile as she heads to her corner to get washed down.
While the Lookout! Corner is much more animated, Nicole yelling at Jenna to wake up before she ends up losing this fight.
Round 5:
Mara fans are loving this as she looks to keep the pressure on her opponent, moving forwards with punches drilling off the gloves of Coleman.
But Jenna seems to have woken up from her slumber when she ducks a right cross, coming up with an uppercut that looks to have stunned Rooney!
Suddenly now it's Jenna finding gaps between the gloves of her opponent, drilling her in the face as Rooney backs up.
Another missed left from Rooney leaves her open to an overhand right from Jenna, turning her head as Jenna knocks her towards a corner.
Both women trade as Rooney tries to fight her way out of the corner, problem is Jenna is landing the harder punches and dodging punches aimed at her head.
Two punches knock sweat off the head of Rooney, making her eyes go wide as she pulls Jenna into a clinch, now it's Jenna trying to break free as both trade insults.
The referee breaks them apart, with Rooney covering up as Jenna comes on the front foot, digging in punches where she sees gaps in the defence of Mara.
The round ends with a massive round for Jenna, showing she is far from finished as she has found another gear, rocking Rooney.
Who shakes her head in disbelief at the toughness of Jenna, Kate telling her sister to not let Jenna bother her, stick to her own tactics and things will swing back her way.
Round 6:
Both women start off strong, classic flyweight exchange at the center of the ring as they try to bully each other backwards.
Jenna surprises Rooney by stepping back out the way of a right hook that finds air, with Jenna countering with two straight punches that knocks the Americans head back.
That seems to have opened up Rooney's defences, JENNA DIPS UNDER A RIGHT CROSS, LANDING AN UPPERCUT THAT WOBBLES ROONEY'S LEGS, A FOLLOW UP LEFT AND RIGHT HOOK SENDS HER DOWN TO HER BACK!
The Jenna fans come to life as she raises her fists as heading over to the neutral corner, 1...2...3...4.. Rooney tries sitting up 5...6.. Her arms give way and she falls flat on her back with glassy eyes staring at the ceiling, 7...8...9...10 Rooney is counted out!

Winner Jenna Louise Coleman KO Round 6

After:
A surprising comeback from behind victory for Jenna, who was expected to take out Rooney a lot easier then she did, hence why she looks relieved as she heads to her corner.

Kate meanwhile rushes out to check on Rooney, helping her sit up as Rooney needs some smelling salts under her nose to bring her fully around.

Punching the canvas; Rooney looks understandably upset that she couldn't finish the job tonight, with Kate trying to console her sister.

When Rooney seems calmer; Kate helps her up and over to her corner, where she can clean her up, while Rooney looks lost in her thoughts, clearly trying to work out what she could have done better.

Once both women are ready, they come to the center of the ring for the final announcement, Jenna smiling warmly to the crowd with her fat bottom lip thanks to Rooney.

Who just nods before she leaves the ring with Kate, who doesn't say much as she doesn't want to say something that Rooney might misinterpret, most likely they'll go over the fight the next day to see where Rooney can improve.

Inside the ring; Jenna isn't celebrating much, admitting to Nicole that she got sloppy but it won't happen again, questions will be getting asked whether she likes it or not about her still being in that elite bracket, tonight was nearly a disaster for her!

As she leaves the ring; she doesn't look too worried as she jogs to the locker rooms, focusing on what's ahead now as she aims to claim gold.
