Part 1: Doda vs Amanda Clapham This was the main event from the Poland card on Friday night, Doda coming home against the dangerous unbeaten Amanda, who showed how keen she is to push on with her career as she stepped into hostile territory.
Doda it has to be said hasn't looked her formidable self lately, losing three of her last four after finally winning the BBU bantamweight title over two years ago, at thirty six we have heard some questioning the longevity of her now.
Amanda meanwhile has battered the likes of Charlotte Crosby and Helen George up till this point, she was the one who asked for this fight, Doda of course not afraid of a challenge, even rumours the two had to be kept apart before the fight at a meeting away from cameras to set up the bout.
Straight away from the bell it was all action, Amanda kicked off the first round simply outworking Doda, knocking her back to the outside of the ring, Doda not afraid of a scrap which gave the crowd something to cheer.
Even as they saw their girl get pushed back by Amanda in the second, Doda landed several beautiful punches to keep Amanda from getting too cocky though, by the end of the second arguably Doda was getting on top.
It hasn't a doubt by the third as Doda timed Amanda coming in much better, the younger fighter was becoming too predictable, the former champion bashing her into her beautiful face repeatedly as the guard of Clapham wasn't staunch enough.
Then in the fourth we begun to see the wheels come off for Amanda, she was whacked down by a right hook, while she got up it was clear by the fifth that Doda was on top, battering Amanda till she fell to her knees and out for the count to take her unbeaten record.
For Doda this was a good way of dusting herself off from her bad form, not to simply get stuck fighting someone simply there to be a punch bag, Amanda came to give her a real test out the gates.
Now to Amanda herself, this fight was clearly a jump too high, she needs to work more on her technique as her style was too simple, she has power to work with, problem is that all she was relying on, as this fight showed that only gets you so far before you hit a road block, there is potential there is harnessed correctly.

Part 2: Ewelina Lisowska vs Ola Jordan The Polish crowd got a chance to see two of their own go at it on Friday, with plenty of pride certainly on the line as you can say without a doubt that neither Ewelina or Ola are withering flowers.
The form books said that the unbeaten Ewelina would come out on top, this was her toughest test in many peoples eyes as Ola has always hovered around that upper crust of the flyweight division, just not quite in the elite though even with her dancing background.
Coming together to start the fight you could see that the fighters were going to give their all, great action to kick off the fight as both dug in to work away on the inside.
What we learned as the fight was progressing, Ewelina could match Ola's impressive footwork, allowing her to crowd the blonde along the ropes, beating her to the punch in most cases.
The best round for Ola arguably was the second, she landed several beautiful punches to the face of Ewelina, though even that round she ended up groaning being beaten back in the final moments of the round.
Blood run from the mouth of Ola as her lips were cut, in the forth Jordan went down from a right hook, she got up but was promptly put back down and out for the count in a dominant display for Ewelina.
This was another statement victory for Ewelina, we've said it before that we have a soft spot for her, it is performances like this why we feel she can become a champion someday, still needs to move up through the gears though to find where her issues are.
Next for Ewelina seems to be Amelle Berrabah, that should be a good test for her as Amelle certainly has a sting to her punches, I'd say she is a similar level to Ola, though she hasn't the same style as the dancer does.
Ola probably is stinging enough without me criticizing her, she is a good fighter, this was just stylistically not a good match up here for her, it'll be fun to see how she comes back from this defeat.

Part 3: Jill Halfpenny vs Kelly Reilly It is always interesting to see these "cougar" fights, some have seen old rivals resume hostilities thought to be finished in their primes, others have been dream fights that never got to happen down to things like politics in boxing, others like this fight are two women who started late in their careers deciding to stick to women more their age then continue to fight women young enough to be their daughters.
Both Jill and Kelly it has to be said have no had stellar careers so far, in fact Jill lost her only fight in her career and Kelly has only won two fights in twelve fights, though Jaime Murray has reportedly been looking over both fighters for future bouts, more so Jill it seems.
Well both had to deal with each other, plenty of confidence emanated from them as they stepped into the ring, still looking physical impressive today as they did when they first stepped foot into a ring.
The opening round saw Jill come out strong, showing off why she is a trainer at the Marti Maulers stable with some staunch defence before firing back once she saw an opening against the ineffective Kelly.
After that though Jill kept making mistakes, getting too assured of herself before getting punished by Kelly, who while not the hardest punching bantamweight around, still had enough behind her punches to rock back Jill when the openings showed themselves.
Leading to Jill getting her nose busted up in the third, Halfpenny would go down after more punishment, getting up at seven, still though she was clearly hurt even after getting a break between rounds, where in round four she was ready to look for the exit, Kelly knocked her out cold before the referee could jump in anyway.
It was a gruesome ending as flecks of blood soaked the referee's shirt, Jill looked like her nose could be broken, somehow we hear she has been lucky it hasn't been, boy does she need to be careful with it going forwards.
Meanwhile Kelly stamped her authority on this fight, showing there is a future for her in this age range, no more going seeking twenty year olds for paydays when she could comfortable make money fighting against people she has a chance against.
Now will Jaime be scared of either of these two? Honestly I don't think so as Murray showed she was a skilled operator in her past fights, already defeating Kelly in a fight, while Jill's nose will be a bullseye, Kelly though might have the belief now to overturn her loss.

Final Part: Monika Pietrasinska vs Laura Barriales These two both have points to prove coming into this fight, a loss could effectively end any hopes they have of making any noise going forwards in their careers, a win would keep the embers alive for longer.
Monika at one time was seen as a real title prospect, going undefeated for a while, once that first loss came though the wheels fell off, she went into this with a fifty percent win record, a far cry from her highs.
In the other corner Laura had trimmed down a few pounds to make lightweight, she had been a welterweight through her career, not flourishing at the weight it has to be said.
So in came they came with fully focused looks, Laura kicked off the fight faster thanks to her extra reach, though in reality she wasn't actually landing much in the opener, just scoring points as Monika couldn't get out from behind her gloves.
But once Monika started to have some success, the confidence started to flow through the hard hitting Pole, Laura still matched her well through rounds two and three, Monika arguably landed the best punches of those rounds.
That led to Monika getting to the inside in the forth, bashing Laura around her face till two battering hooks sent Laura down to her back, she beat the count with a pissed off look.
Which wasn't the best way to be, proven in the fifth when a right hook to the ear sent Laura down to her side, this time she didn't seem to know where she was as she ended up being counted out.
A great performance by Monika, she started slowly but once she got an idea of how to tackle the issue in front of her, she was brilliant in taking down the beautiful Spanish fighter with absolute precision.
Laura on the other hand struggled to match the intensity of her opponent, maybe cutting weight hurt her badly, maybe her lack of action lately was the key, if she is able to break out the basement level here in the BBU, she needs to find answers to her problems.
That's all we have time for folks, thank you so much to everyone who took the time to read these posts, we hope you enjoyed reading them, we will be back next Sunday for the next edition, stay safe.
