Part 1: Lucy Pinder vs Vicky Pattison The talk over the past week has been about the return of Vicky Pattison to our shores after her American excursion, which didn't end so well, even if Vicky won't exactly admit that.
Coming back she decided with help to set up a card back in her hometown of Newcastle to prompt her return, being hostess and in the main event to make sure the spotlight was firmly on her.
Her opponent for this fight was Lucy Pinder, whose record isn't great but has had some good wins on her record, mostly at JMD though against the likes of Katie Price in the past few years.
Neither seemed to care much for the other going into this fight, with Vicky not being sensible in the opening rounds, fighting Lucy at her strength with inside exchanges to start, finding out that the sometimes lightweight Lucy happens to hit harder then her.
Once that realisation kicked in Vicky showed the qualities that got her signed up to an FCBA stable, a stiff jab along with impressive footwork allowed her to start finding her target more often, smacking the cheeks of Lucy repeatedly.
Not to say Lucy didn't have some success, but her guard was suspect to say the least, ending up with the model hitting the deck in round five to the delight of the crowd, not so much for her coach Melinda Messenger as she shook her head.
I'm guessing it was good money for Lucy to take the fight, though it reinforced that JMD is more her style with the more inside fighters in that division for her to have a crack at, she still is dangerous, this just wasn't the right opponent for her to show that.
While it was a nice showcase for Vicky, whose attitude will be perfect for the rebuild to a degree since her confidence doesn't seem to have taken much of a beating, question reminds can she take that step up, so far in her career the answer has been no, before she knows it that might be too late for her to find the answer to.

Part 2: Holly Hagan vs Amelia Lily Oliver I'll admit I don't know much about Amelia Lily Oliver, researching her was interesting when you find out she was one of the singers who lost to Little Mix on the X-Factor, along with the fact she kicked off her career in the BBU on a high then crumbled badly, not being seen in any ring since 2016.
Well Holly Hagan; whose going through a reinvention of herself physically, called out Amelia as it seems Oliver has taken a spot on Geordie Shore, the old stomping ground of Hagan, along with the fact both of from Middlesbrough didn't help matters between them.
After some trash talking and threats on what they'd have done outside the ring, they stepped into the ring with scowls aimed right at each other, then the punches came flying as the first round was a mess to say the least of grappling and brawling.
They both got a stern telling off by coaches and the referee before the second round, where Amelia started to get some rhythm going, showing some flashes of the brilliance she had kicked her career off with many moons ago.
But Holly caught out Amelia late in the second round to put her down, it didn't look like it hurt Amelia badly, it got on her goat judging by the look on her face, getting up to beat the count at 8.
It did seem to affect the confidence of Amelia, she didn't throw as much as Holly started to come on the attack more often, pounding back the face of Oliver, with Hagan looking stronger with each hit as her rhythm was flowing.
In the fourth finally Amelia was put down by hard body shots, she couldn't beat the count as she could only sob while trying to catch her breath, after that Holly would go on to humiliate the defenceless Oliver around the ring.
While I won't go into that, let's talk about how much either got from the fight, Amelia got a tough lesson if she is serious about coming back to the ring more regularly, she will need to train harder and find some beatable opponent's to find her confidence back.
For Holly normally I would attack a fighter with her experience taking on someone like Amelia, the reason why she took this fight apart from a personal grudge is the fact she trying to rebuild herself as not just a brawler, more a boxer with her renewed speed and stamina, she'll need to make a step up soon to show how much her changes have really benefited her.

Part 3: Leigh-Anne Pinnock vs Marnie Simpson The opening bout of the card in Newcastle saw a little grudge match to kick off, this was all set up after Marnie had battered Perrie Edwards on Paradise Beach two months ago.
Leigh-Anne apart from trying to improve on her mixed record, she was the one trying to get revenge on Marnie, with Marnie happy to take on another member of Little Mix as she doesn't seem much a fan of them.
Starting the fight off in a straight up head to head fight, Leigh-Anne didn't look to enjoy that as she didn't have the power to keep back Marnie, they let their hands go in exciting exchanges.
After that Pinnock got on her bicycle, boxing well when she kept the fight at range, Marnie was a little too open and for that she suffered straight punches into the face.
But Marnie was able to find her way to the inside, knocking back Leigh-Anne around the outside of the ring, hurting her when with uppercuts as Pinnock couldn't keep her off her, finally Marnie knocked out Leigh-Anne with a flurry of punches, the Geordie took four rounds to do it.
It was an impressive finish from Marnie, she was too cocky this fight with her guard being open, when she takes a step up she will need to work on that, in fact she looks like she will be meeting Jade Thirlwall in a battle of South Shields lasses.
Leigh-Anne meanwhile needs to work on her power if she is to push forwards in her career, with her dance training she has great footwork to go along with her jab, but without that power punching she isn't going to make a step up anytime soon.

Final Part: Nicola Mimnagh vs Martha Hunt We ended the action packed week with two stunning models trying to take a step in the right direction after a few defeats derailed their rise up the rankings, so the question is which one found their mojo to get the win?
Well the added intrigue to this fight was about Nicola being challenged by Leah Francis to fight her, a daunting task that would be made worse if she lost to Martha on her way to that fight, with Martha said herself to be wanting bigger fights if she could come out on top.
The table was set and both fighters stepped out their corners looking very determined, with both almost in sparring mode through the opening minute till the found their range, Martha landing some quick fire hooks along with an uppercut to take the round as Nicola looked a little stunned.
Back came Nicola as both let their hands go more, the former Miss Scotland looking classy on the inside as she beat back the American, landing some nifty punches into the breadbasket of her opponent to add to Hunt's misery.
Then the real excitement came as Nicola ate some vicious hooks to her face, enough to nearly shut her left eye as Martha beat her down, putting Nicola on her knees with a nasty right to the body, that the Scot needed to dig into her reserves of toughness to push up at five to try to prove she wasn't hurt, though the bell ringing seemed a big relief to her.
Again Mimnagh wasn't happy being on the back foot, catching out Martha with an uppercut before her own pounding hooks came flying in, it was like they were Roc em sock em robots the way they just kept hitting each other with hard shots that sent blood with sweat flying into the air.
Down went Martha to a right hook for a count of seven to end the fourth, then another big right hook sent Martha out for the count in the fifth, giving the crowd a lot to cheer as the home favourite got the win.
Once the dust settled Nicola made it known she wants to fight Leah, she will need to tighten up her guard as Leah though not the biggest welterweight by any stretch, is a real force when she gets her hooks going.
Martha meanwhile keeps flattering to deceive, physically she is one of the fittest welters around, problem is she doesn't seem able to take much punishment, which obviously is a major drawback in a division of notable big punches.
That's all we have time for, we hope you enjoyed today's episode, thank you for taking the time to read these posts, we will be back next Sunday for the next edition.
