Tom Hilton:Happy new year ladies and gentlemen, I know I'm a week late but last week was our awards show and well we are proud with peoples reactions being positive. So after an eventful year that was well; scary as hell (major understatement!) The BBU has had a massive year that seen records broken, new champions crowned and new managers creating interesting match ups. This episode will talk about this past year, talking of the great moments and the major events, with each part of the episode broken up into 3 month segments. But we should also look forward to this year, more amazing fights are being arranged as we speak, more managers are in the league, competing for titles and for your support for their girls. From our point of view, we have a new reporter in the beautiful Molly McGrath, who you'll hopefully see soon at events for us. Last but truly important to us, we wish everyone a special year, may your dreams come true and that you enjoy today's read.

Part 1: January to MarchThe BBU year started with an excellent fight between Jennifer Metcalfe fighting Jennifer Ellison, Ellison would win the battle of Jennifer's. But Metcalfe wouldn't have to worry too much, six girls from the Hollyoaks set would see the beginning of a special round robin tournament. The tournament saw Jennifer Metcalfe start her impressive run against Ali Bastian, Gemma Bissix would beat Emma Rigby in a hard fight that saw the return of young Emma to the ring, Jodi Albert was the same, coming back to beat Claire Cooper, who'd become a friend of the show January would also see a raft of new faces to the league, Jessica Michibata, Yasmin Verheijen, Laci Kay Somers, Elisabetta Gregoraci, to go with the new Girls Friday manager Harry Keegan, oh and us. Title wise Una Healy retained her BBU bantamweight title by beating Reon Kadena in the opening BBU PPV of the year in Ireland, to say the result was controversial is an understatement! Una would win by points, but Reon was the winner to most pundits at ringside, a month later in Japan, Una would hammer Reon in a brutal beat down to answer her critics. February saw Stephanie Davis debut to the delight of many and we've seen her create many great moments as would be shown by her beating of Samia Ghadie just last month. Other title fights saw Jenna Louise Coleman beat up her former friend and stablemate Lily Allen, a hard fight that saw Jenna prove that she deserved the top spot in their "friendly rivalry. March saw the debut card from Gina Wilds new stable Black Eagle Boxing, her girls would have a mixed year, me and Gina have argued a lot about why her stable has had issues. It would also see the first Girls Friday card, with debuting girls getting their chance to shine against the jobbers of their divisions, this would start their run of cards that would see them fight around the North East of England and even travel to Australia. The major fight in March saw Doutzen Kroes, the lightweight champion, beat Malika Menard in their first fight of the year and first classic the two would have. But the BBU also started it's hunt for the newest BBU welterweight champion, Alex Curran (Gerrard), Jameela Jamil, Jourdan Dunn and Catherine Tyldesley would win in their first round bouts, with a second set of first round fights to take place later last year.

Part 2: April to JuneThe first Stable war of the year took place, Black Eagle Boxing would surprise me by beating Foxfire Atlantic to open the month up for the BBU, highlights being Indira Weis crushing Chantelle Houghton and Ann-Katherin Brommel beating Laury Thilleman. Then Jenna Louise Coleman would continue her monster year by beating Mollie King, the blonde would put the champ down, but Coleman would bite back to win by a knockout late in the fight. This month also saw the third round of fights in the hollyoaks special, Jennifer Metcalfe would keep her unbeaten record in the tournament by beating fellow unbeaten rival Gemma Bissix, the tournament should continue this year to a finish. The end of April would see a group of girls represent us to take on our friends in BBU TV in a friendly competition, for the record we lost, but maybe we can find time for a redo this year. May would see Coleman add Jade Ewen to the list of girls she beat this year to keep her title once again, it was surprisingly one sided after the year Jade had in building to this fight. The second part of the BBU welterweight title tournaments first round would see Karen Gillan, Joan Smalls, Jaye Jacobs and Nicola McLean add their name to the quarter finals 2017 will be the year the welterweight division has a clear vision going forward, with a champion on top of all the challengers growing as we speak. June saw the Geordie Shore girls of Marnie Simpson, Holly Hagan, Chantelle Connelly debut with a mixture of results. The big fight from that card was the battle of Tyne and Wear, Vicky Pattison vs Charlotte Crosby, it ended in a draw in a vicious fight that saw neither give an inch in a vicious brawl. We also saw the last fight of Emily Blunt in the BBU, she fought good friend Rebecca Hall in what was a tough loss for her and she gave a heartfelt speech that wasn't goodbye, just see you later. Then we'd get one of the cards of the year when Lookout! Atlantic fought Girls Friday in a stable war, highlights were Maisie Williams upsetting her costar on Game of Thrones and Jenna Louise Coleman beat the debuting Ivana Baquero by knockout in round 10 in your fight of the year! The month would end with Malika Menard managing history and winning the lightweight title in her second chance at the title. Another classic for Malika and Doutzen, one we hope will be repeated in future, as the score between the two remains at one win apiece.

Part 3: July to September July would see the beginning of Melanie Sykes retirement tour, it ended badly with defeat at the hands Tara Moss, the big Australian pounding Mel to the canvas, but the sight of both friends in tears and hugging is one we'll remember.
We would also see the debut of Bianca Gascoigne's gaslight club, JMD fights, she would lose her fight badly to Emily Scott.
While her friend from celebrity gladiators Danielle Lloyd, would beat Tabrett Bethall and would later come for Emily, who humiliated Bianca.
We also saw the debuts of Zara Holland (who lost) and Helen George (she won), both have bright futures in the BBU we feel and we look forward to what they do next.
The end of the month saw a bloody, chaotic title fight between Una Healy and Doda (Dorota Rabczewska) Una would keep her title, but was certainly worse for wear after the fight.
August started the beach boxing season with more team warfare, this time between Home and away actresses and Neighbors counterparts.
Neighbors would pull the result out by one win, highlights were the debut of Bonnie Sveen, watch out for her and Pia Miller.
We would also see the invention of barn boxing in celeb boxing, with Roxanne Pallett beating long term rival Sammy Winward by knockout, then dumped her in the pigs pen outside for a small humiliation.
We'd see everyone's favourite flyweight Coleman beat up the last girl to beat her in the BBU, Debby Ryan, it seemed to be a fight to exercise demons as she looked relived to win.
September saw the debut of Cher Lloyd, the firestarter of our hearts, pounded out Jeanette Biedermann to start her unbeaten run that has people questioning, is she going to be the next flyweight champ already?
The month also the BBU head to Australia (for two cards) and South Africa, growing the list of venues the BBU has been too.
Add Paris and the beautiful Palace of Versailles, where Malika Menard would go on to hammer Monika Pietrasinska and end the Polish stunners unbeaten run in it's tracks to keep her lightweight title to end the month.

Final Part: October to DecemberOctober would see even more faces, Fiona Wade, Sophie Anderton, Maddy Hill and Nicola Mimnagh dded their names to BBU viewing. We'd see the Ryder Cup return to America, it ended two wins to one in the yanks favour and really should have been a clean sweep (Nadia Forde thank your lucky stars!) The month would end with Coleman adding Kelly Halls unbeaten run to her list of things she took, expect 2017 to be a big year for Kelly, can she get her back on a run or can she not overcome this. November heralded the return of Samia Ghadie to the BBU, arrogant as ever, the Coronation Street beauty came back with a dominant win over Heidi Range to send notice "I'm back bytches!" But November also saw Team Canada return with a dominant performance on it's first night back, new fighters are mixed with the old girls to rebirth one of the most feared stables in the BBU. We'd also see the first round of two title tournaments, this time to crown a JMD champ and the other, for a JMDD champion. Imogen Thomas will fight Rosie Jones this year in the first semi final, while Emma Glover fights Harumi Nemoto in the other semi of the JMD tournament this year, after each earned their places in hard fought quarter finals. But it was a championship special, Una Healy would fight and defeat Azealia Banks to keep her bantamweight title. While history was made by Jenna Louise Coleman, beating Lucy Liu to take her record of most wins in a celeb boxing organization! December would see Team Canada hit a setback, their girls for the most part got hammered on their second card and questions are being asked about who where girls rank within the stable. We'd also see Alesha Dixon return to beat Pippa Middleton up in convincing style. The biggest bout of the month though was Fleur East and Nicola Roberts, Fleur put on a master class and is now the number one contender to the bantamweight title. But will it be Una Healy or Lea Seydoux? Will Coleman keep her unbeaten run going? Who will be the welterweight champion? So many more questions on top of those, I guess you guys will have to watch and find out what happens
