BBU Lightweight Title
Ch Holly Peers vs Brooks Nader
(This Is Glamour vs BBU Independent)
(10-5, 9 KO vs 8-1, 8 KO)
Results: BBU; Story: Vassago
BEFORE: Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooks Nader has emerged as the most obvious lightweight title challenger over the last few months and even veteran Karolina Kurkova couldn't slow the Louisiana hype train down lately. This fight was booked only upon Holly Peers' demand and while nobody expected Nader to stumble over the Czech model it's uncertain what Holly thought when she made her challenge. It's not like Kurkova wore Nader out too much going down in four rounds on the Dubai beach.
"Less thinking, more punching!", Holly dismisses BBU TV's Denise van Outen inquiry and she has every right to do that as the reigning 130 lbs champion. "Have we had an American BBU champion before? (...) We did? Really? Must be ages ago? (...) Who da hell is Hailey Clauson?", the pre-fight interview goes slightly off the rails and the general feeling is that Holly might actually be a rare underdog against the athletic opponent.
Over to Brooks and she's determined to prove her worth before potentially attempting a FCBA breakthrough next season: "I want to do it the old fashioned way. Claim the BBU title and then head back to the States to enter on a higher note. I could have easily joined the Queen of the Beach tournament in the summer but I'm not gonna share the stage with some random bimbos like Joy Corrigan. I'm gonna do it on my own terms!"
Holly Peers wears a red bikini set & white gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a custom ponytail. Brooks Nader wears a silver & blue bikini & US stars & stripes gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a thick braid. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Holly tries to set the early tone but Brooks doesn't waste any second in blasting through the champion's guard to trigger a hectic slugging display in the center of the ring. Both models crash into each other with significant power and Holly withstands the initial test before dropping a double uppercut slant on the American's breasts to drop her into coverage. Brooks swings one over the top but finds Peers working on her cleavage too much and she has to roll out of the exchange which only fuels the champion's slugging pursuit thereafter. Holly goes off script to rattle Nader's bumpers and she clobbers her onto the ropes where she adds more leather to the body in the final minute forcing the challenger to clinch her into safety to close out the round.
Brooks rattles the champion with a nasty uppeercut series and she makes sure Holly doesn't engage in any JMDD action this time. A classic phone booth war of attrition ensues with both brunettes racking up their best efforts to overwhelm their opponent. Holly gets a lucky break when an accidental head-butt pauses the American's delivery and she manages to clobber the challenger onto the ropes where she digs deep into her cleavage again. Ugh! Brooks yells out in anger as the English glamour model rips into her without any sympathy and knocks more jug against her chin before a lenghty clinch stalls the action in the final minute. Holly rides the hot wave to neutralize the American's slugging prowess and the Louisiana challenger appears to be fairly upset over this one already.
Brooks goes for more aggression and smacks quick leather into the older brunette's face but then eats a wild overhand that stuns her on the spot and allows Holly to cash in with rapid fire response from point blank range. She knocks the American onto the ropes and piles on with the head shots to open a small gash under the left before dropping a left hook on the ear that sinks Brooks on jelly knees. Uh-oh! The SI model tries to fire back over the top but only bounces off the top of Holly's forehead and doesn't buckle up for a ruthless right hook that crashes into her temple moments later. DOWN GOES NADER!!! A huge roar around the Cardiff Arena as the Mancunian champion lands the money shot to drop the American tourist for the count. Brooks appears to be as shocked as Denise van Outen in the booth and she needs a full eight count to get back onto her feet however Peers is all over her in a hurry and continues to land some heavy shots until she dumps Nader behind a desperate earmuff in the closing stages. The slugging assault carries on all the way until the referee has to pull the champion off her prey at the bell. Brooks avoids a rough defeat in this round but she sports a huge gash under the left eye since all that Peers attack has wounded her in significant fashion already.
TIG manager Melinda Messenger orders a full-scale attack but Holly realizes she's well on her way to upstage the highly-touted challenger and she RIPS into Brooks' face seconds into the fourth causing more blood spillage as the gash under the American's left eye opens up very quickly again. Brooks is simply shell shocked by the head-hunting abuse and gets pummelled back to the ropes where Holly goes all in and SMOKES her with a classic chin-checking double to confirm her dominant status. Brooks drops into loud spasms and bellows out on top of the ropes while the older brunette buries her with a right hook on the ear that folds the challenger's ambitions for good. DOWN GOES NADER AGAIN!!! The Louisiana native faceplants at the champion's feet and can only make it back onto all four at eight with blood dripping from the wound under the eye. She sits down on her heels and that is your ball game! KO4 and STILL the BBU lightweight champion Holly Peers!!!
AFTER: Talk about making a statement! Holly Peers delivers what could be her second best performance ever (after knocking out Miranda Kerr back in February). There were some fans who claimed the champion is a genuine underdog in this fight but Holly silenced those voices in style. Even Brooks is shocked how her title bid unravelled and keeps shaking her head while talking to her entourage. Guess making a great entrance into FCBA will have to be delayed now or it still happens but not on Nader's terms?
What about our champion? Holly takes over the mic and warns the experts not to hand Sophia Thomalla 'Fighter of the Year' award just yet: "It seems like we're in a boat race to see who enjoys the better 2022 season! She's got her moments and I've got mine. This contest is not over!" (winks).
Official Result: Ch Holly Peers def. Brooks Nader KO4.
