Fighter of the year 23 Poll:
This is our first poll as we ask you to decide who is this year's fighter of the year. We have had many fighters who have made big breakthroughs and several who have dominated. Who though is the best of this year in your eyes? Let's go through the five options you have.
BBU bantamweight champion - Sophia Thomalla: 2023 record: 5-0 (5KOs)

The bantamweight champion has really dominated her division since she stepped into the ring. The last twelve months has seen her defeat Maisie Smith, Vicky Pattison, Vera Brezhnev, Harumi Nemoto and Maura Higgins. It will be interesting to see who can topple the undefeated fighter.
BBU JMDD champion - Hailey Clauson: 2023 record: 5-0 (5KOs)

This has been the breakout year for Hailey. She has been touted as a champion since her debut in 2017, she won the BBU JMDD title. Beat Raffaella Modugno, Kate Upton, Tamara Ecclestone, Bo Krsmanovic and Hannah Ferguson.
BBU lightweight Champion - Holly Peers: 2023 record: 4-0 (4KOs)

Kicking off the year by beating Miranda Kerr was seen by some as an upset. Since then though she has defended the title against Yasmin Verheijen, Valentina Fradegrada and Brooks Nader to show that she is truly at the elite level now.
Bianca Atzei - 2023 record: 9-3 (9KOs)

The Italian stunner has had a debut year to remember. One of the best fight years of a fighter in recent memory. She has beaten top names like Michelle Keegan, Inna and hall of famer Samia Ghadie. While she fell short for the BBU flyweight title against the now former champion Holly Hagan. Many see her as a future champion judging by her rate of growth.
BBU JMD champion - Catalina Otalvaro 2023 record: 3-0 (3KOs)

Finally while Catalina has had the least fights amongst these fighters, she has made great strides in a division that had the iron grip of Charlotte Church at the top. Catalina started the year by defeating Charlotte for the JMD title. Since then she has defeated Lucy Pinder and Michelle Keegan to make her case.
