Vanessa White vs Ewelina Lisowska
(Double A Boxing vs Lioness Club)
(10-11, 10 KO vs 16-3, 16 KO)
Results: BBU; Story: Vassago
BEFORE: Former flyweight champion Ewelina Lisowska didn't enjoy much success last season and her punchout defeat at the hands of Inna triggered a lenghty dispute whethere the Polish singer belongs in the p4p Top 10 conversation anymore. Meanwhile Vanessa White has found a new level ever since The Saturdays headed off into the sunset and claims she can still win a lineal BBU title despite coming off back-to-back losses. Vanessa's petite frame remains her biggest problem and she's too inconsistent to be treated as a serious contender according to Denise van Outen in the booth who admits to having a Mollie King bias when it comes to the dissolved band members. However the spotlight is all on White tonight in what could be her most important boxing fight in several years.
Vanessa White wears a black bikini set & red gloves. Long black hair tied in a braid. Ewelina Lisowska wears a crimson red bikini set & black gloves. Long black hair tied in a custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1:
Both singers decide to power ahead with a proper slugging attack but they struggle to connect with enough big shots before Vanessa switches her targets and lands some hits in the fellow brunette's breadbasket. She keeps drilling that area thereafter and stuffs the former champion on her heels but she can't quite trap her along the ropes and has to rely on sheer work rate to maintain her advantage. Ewelina is unable to swing back with the required response and tries to limit the damage before clinching the older singer. Both women wrestle for supremacy for a while and Vanessa packs more punches in the Pole's breasts to nick the round on points which makes her extremely vocal at the bell.
Round 2:
Vanessa works more jabs to establish the early control but Ewelina runs up a left/right combo to indicate she can be as aggressive as ever before dropping a left hook on the mouth. White barks in anger and triggers a hectic back & forth dispute in the center of the ring which allows her to resume the slugging pounce but Lisowska has her covered and works the overhand connection to snap the Brit's head back before booming a left hook on the ear. Ugh! Vanessa bails out of the close range drill however Ewelina is unable to close her down and has to rely on single-hand delivery that don't exactly make the desired effect whatsoever. She pulls even on the cards but still shakes her head after Vanessa gives her a lenghty staredown after the bell.
Round 3:
More quick outs from Ewelina who settles down on the head-hunting pounce and tries to knock Vanessa out with the proverbial haymaker but she can't find her range often enough and slices through thin air while the British singer targets the midsection before moving up to clip the Pole's breasts again. Ewelina fends off the initial attack but then wobbles to her heels half-way through the round and opens enough of a gap for White to power ahead with a gut-checking drive. She also profits from an accidental clash of heads and barges Lisowska onto the ropes where she gashes her to the body from both flanks while Ewelina's response breaks down when she gets blasted on the liver area and folds into an earmuff cover for remainder of the round.
Round 4:
Vanessa finds more success blasting Ewelina to the body and she drills right through her navel folding the former champion into more spasms amid a desperate clinching attempt. Ugh! Lisowska tries to swing one for the ages but catches White on the shoulder and opens up just enough for the Brit to NAIL her with a brutal right hook on the jaw. Uh-oh! DOWN GOES EWELINA in downright shocking fashion!!! A clean slam dunk power punch drops her for the count and even Vanessa is stunned by this success. She struts back to her corner while the fellow brunette tries to battle back to her feet almost too quickly for her own sake. But she's up at six and wants to drive immediate response into her opponent's flesh. She flies into a slugging lane in all or nothing fashion but White wisely lets her empty her tank and then loops another hard combo over the top to dominate the final stretch again. She pummels the ailing Pole back to the turnbuckle and only gets halted by the bell when she was ready to knock Lisowska out of the ball park according to Denise van Outen in the booth.
Round 5:
Ewelina is slow to get up as she also nurses a couple of visible lumps on her face while Vanessa just powers ahead and tears down her guard with more confident striking in close range. Ewelina responds with a single-hand approach and lands some weak punches into the Brit's face before taking a boomer on the chin that wobbles her forward into a quick uppercut double. Ugh! Lisowska gets busted on the jaw and goes all shimmy shake while Vanessa reaches out with one combo extra and drills her on the nose. Woof. Ewelina half-spins to the side with eyes closed and CRASHES FACE-DOWN ON THE CANVAS moments later. Vanessa tells the ref it's all over and she's not wrong. Ewelina is unable to beat the count leaving coach Mel B. to scream out her anger in the Lioness corner. KO5 Vanessa White!!!
AFTER: It's a shocking result considering Vanessa's hot & cold performances over the years but perhaps she can join Mollie King and thrive while in her mid 30s after all. Meanwhile Ewelina's elite stock took another nasty hit tonight and there will be some questions asked in the Lioness stable whether the former champion should be more active rather than rest on her past laurels too long? It seems like she's lost the 'fear factor' right now and she'll have to earn back her peers' respect. She has enough talent to resume the winning ways so it's not the time to panic just yet but coach Mel B. realizes she has to fix this issue before it becomes terminal.
Official Result: Vanessa White def. Ewelina Lisowska KO5.
