Part 3: Kym Graham Vs Lucy Pinder (JMDD)We interviewed Kym Graham recently as there has been buzz around her. The thirty year old Geordie page three model had rumours around her of being a handful for sparring partners, including one Lucy Pinder. Leading to a JMDD bout between the two glamour models on the pay per view.
Lucy is certainly a veteran of the ring. While she hasn't had the greatest of successes, she has a clear legion of fans and is as tough as they come. Even with a fan campaign to try to get her to fight undefeated BBU bantamweight champion Sophia Thomalla. Could she grab the headlines and maybe Sophia's attention here?
There was arguably as much drama about what was happening around the ring as in it. Kelly Brook was working Kym's corner, an old bitter rival of Lucy's in the glamour world and the boxing world. While there was plenty of big names surrounding it in the VIP section, Kate Upton and Tamara Ecclestone were certainly interested if Kym lived up to the billing.
The opening round was a hard fought affair as these two rivals in the This is Glamour stable ranks came out swinging. Clearly they wanted to set the tone of the fight, with Lucy using her experience to create openings, while Kym was wanting to walk down the older woman from the opening bell.
Lucy showed some flashes of her brilliance with little nudges opening up Kym to some cracking punches. If the Graham fans thought she would walk through her, they were getting a look at why Pinder is so loved as she dug in and gave Kym a rough learning experience.
But Kym wasn't shying away from the contact. Leading to the fourth round; where she hammered in hooks and uppercuts that were getting to Lucy. Who came out in the fifth looking to take the fight to the rookie, instead an uppercut into her breasts forced Lucy down to the canvas and earned Graham her first victory.
While there is definitely some learning to do for Kym. She certainly looks a solid prospect, even staring down the former BBU JMDD champions at ringside to show she wasn't afraid of any of them. Whether that will translate to her own success is still to see but she has confidence in herself and that will help her not be fun shy.
Lucy meanwhile; well it will be interesting to see if Sophia Thomalla acknowledges her or if this defeat put any sort of shot at Sophia in the bin. You'd be hard pressed to see Lucy defeat Sophia but shocks do happen of course.
