Part 1: BBU Bantamweight title bout The main event from the pay per view saw a rematch of two of the best bantamweights right now in the world. Maisie Smith looked to get revenge on Sophia Thomalla for taking her undefeated streak last year. Sophia of course wanted to keep the title and her own unbeaten career record.
Sophia has done some real damage in the bantamweight division. Beating a ton of her fellow competitors. Maisie was arguably her toughest challenger so far in her career. With Maisie wanting to become one of the youngest world champions in BBU history.
The opening two rounds were a good showcase of what both bring to the table. Sophia looked good moving in and out of range, Maisie meanwhile used her raw power to bully back the champion in the second round. The crowd was loving the intensity from both women.
After that though Thomalla showed why she is a cut above the rest of the division with crisp punches into the face of her foe. Maisie suffered cuts under both eyes as Sophia was counter punching her way forwards. Using the aggression of Smith against her.
That led to the sixth round where Maisie was trying her hardest. Problem was she getting caught flush, leading to her being put down by a right hook for a count of eight. Maisie would then be pounds back into a corner, where the beating Maisie took was too much for her. Down went Smith for the count and Thomalla holds onto the title for another month.
It was great to see that Sophia has the motivation still to be the best. When someone has been as dominant they can tend to fall foul of losing focus. Sophia has her eyes on keeping her belt and for becoming the number one ranked pound for pound BBU fighter again. Hailey Clauson currently holds that honour and while it would be a dream to see both box it out for that ranking, sadly there's too big a weight difference to see that.
For Maisie well hopefully she doesn't beat herself up too much over losing to Sophia again. She has run into one of the best BBU fighters we have seen in history. Even Sophia herself said before the bout that she sees Maisie as a future champion.

Part 2: BBU flyweight title bout We got an international clash for the BBU flyweight title. Bianca Atzei looked to claim her first title in celebrity female boxing. Jorgie Porter was the champion she wanted to dethrone. Jorgie finding her feet at the top of the mountain with some very impressive defences.
Both were not so complimentary about their opponent in the build up. The importance of the title was on show with the intensity both showed when they stepped into the ring. There wasn't a touch of gloves between them before the bout.
Bianca caught Jorgie cold to start the bout, whacking in some heavy leather to put the champion on the back foot. Jorgie had to come out more quickly behind a double jab to keep the challenger on the outside as we saw the clash of styles.
This was a rough back and forth clash. Both had marks over their faces, Jorgie's left eye was puff from the hard hits she was taking when Bianca stepped on the inside. Jorgie was boxing nicely on the outside when she could get her rhthym going.
We found out our winner in the seventh round. Jorgie managed to catch Bianca with a nasty body shot that took air out of her. Soon enough an uppercut caught Bianca flush on her chin to knock her out cold!
This was a good bout that will please Jorgie that she overcome a tough challenger. Bianca can come back from this defeat but right now Jorgie Porter is the woman they all want to beat.

Part 3: Elodie DiPatrizi Vs Samaria Regalado Two women wanting to push themselves into the bantamweight title picture. Elodie DiPatrizi and Samaria Regalado needed a win to showcase that they deserved the spotlight. Which one achieved that goal?
Elodie was the more talkative of the pair as she made it clear she wanted to knock out Samaria. Who made her presence known on her social media that she would be ready for this clash. Posting work out videos and of her sparring at her stables gym.
It was Elodie though that kicked off the fight the better. She was pressuring Samaria around the outside part of the ring. Even when Samaria had some early success, Elodie came roaring back at her to show how motivated she was.
Things swung around though when Samaria used the aggression of Elodie against her. Banging in straight punches to her face, that led to the fifth round when Elodie was badly stunned. A nasty right hook sent DiPatrizi down to the canvas. Elodie couldn't find her way back to her feet, giving Samaria a great comeback victory.
Elodie will be worried by the manner of her defeat when she had won three of the five rounds comfortably. Samaria meanwhile showed her toughness to stick in the fight and then find a way to win it. Both still need time for me to learn their craft before they dare challenge Sophia Thomalla.

Part 4: Leah Francis Vs Joan Smalls This was one of the most interesting bouts on the card. The newly crowned first ever BBU English welterweight champion Leah Francis was looking to take down the former BBU welterweight champion Joan Smalls. Who has moved into a more supportive role in her stable. Did Joan still have it or would Leah prove she deserves a world title fight.
As expected this was a hard hitting contest from the opening bell. Leah looked to crowd Joan back against the ropes and into corners. Joan looked ring rusty as the crowd roared on Leah to punish her. The Puerto Rican fighter looked fired up by that.
Joan came in fighting hard from the bell for the second round. Digging her fists into the face of Leah at range. Soon sending Leah down for a count of four in the second. Both trying to control where the action was taking place as Leah wanted to keep to the inside. It got scruffy in round three and four.
Leah started to eat more heavy handed punches as she tried to keep the pressure on her foe. Instead she was getting beaten up by the end of the fifth, the sixth saw Joan pound down Leah and that was all she wrote for the English stunner. Leah was helped out by medics to show how badly she had left herself open.
At the end of the day that is why Leah has struggled to reach that world title level. She doesn't protect herself enough and against the biggest punchers in the division it only leads to being blasted out at some point.
While Joan showed some of the skills that made her a world champion at some point. Is the hunger still there to become a world champion again? Well we know she helps the current champion Josephine Skriver. Maybe when Josephine loses the title we might see Joan made a real effort to return to that level. Of course this victory might get her motivation to have returned.
That's all we have time for folks. Thank you first to all the writers who wrote fights this week. Then to you our wonderful BBU fans. We will be back next Sunday for the next edition of the Real View.
