Part 4: an interview with Kelly BrookTom: ok so now we do one of my favourite parts of this job. I get to speak to a wonderful person within the BBU, whether it be a fighter, manager or someone else in the media that follows the BBU.
This time around I get a chance to catch up with someone who is a BBU hall of fame talent in waiting. Someone who has been in celebrity boxing for shall we say politely a few years and is a multiple time champion in three different divisions. Please welcome Kelly Brook!
(Kelly is sitting on her sofa wearing a purple vest with black joggers and bare foot, smiling to the camera as she waves with both hands.)Kelly: hey gang. It's been too long since I did one of these interviews with the BBU. Thanks for having me on Tom.
Tom: no worries Kelly, you are always welcome on our show. So first I have to ask as we usually like to drag up photos or videos boxing related of our guess. We found an interesting photo of yourself that we'd like to hear your thoughts on now.
Kelly: haha oh that photo. Part of me wanted to do it topless but I was told in advance by my agent that it wouldn't be great for the brand. So we met somewhat in the middle. I have always been proud of my body and always will be.
I should say what will probably have your fans drooling... But I was offered good money in the past to fight bare breasted with the likes of Christina Hendricks in a UK Vs USA affair. I know she wanted it and part of me did, sadly of course no boxing organisation will allow that so it's a pipe dream as I know a topless face to face with Christina would break the internet. Maybe me just bringing it up will haha.
Tom: *gulps* hmm... Yep it certainly would have been a hell of a showdown. We might swing back around to Christina before long but I have to say that you have had arguably one of the most underrated careers for someone who has accomplished so much.
I mean here's a list of your accomplishments:
Former BBU JMDD champion.
Former BBU Welterweight champion.
Former two time FCBA lightweight champion.
Former Queen of the Ice Hotel.
Yet you don't get mentioned in the greatest of All time arguments. Does that upset you or is it not really something that bothers you?
Kelly: that's certainly an interesting question. I am naturally competitive as you see by the fact I am happy enough to go bare breasted to fight another woman. I'd be lying if it didn't bug me but my record doesn't help my cause. I have lost more then I have won. That's on me as I grew lax. I got to a stage where I only really fought once or twice a year, I didn't train as hard as I should and I let things in my personal life get to me.
Tom: sorry for butting in but you have earned the nickname by some, including here on this channel of being the Renaissance woman of celebrity female boxing. You have had two stages of your career. As you say your younger days winning in the FCBA. Then in the last five years coming to the BBU and winning back in this country in front of friends and family.
Kelly: thank you for the nickname by the way. Yeah coming to the BBU was a lifesaver. Getting to train here instead of just flying off to America all the time, signing for the This is Glamour stable with Melinda Messenger as a mentor. It kicked my arse in gear and basically I had a second or third chapter of my career however you look at it.
I mean before that if you told me I'd have a heated rivalry with Kate Upton I'd probably laugh at you and tell you she wouldn't waste her time with me. Now though I know I can beat that Barbie doll and be the best in the JMDD division for example.
Tom: arguably you are entering another chapter of your storied career. With your first foray into the cougar division in the FCBA when you knocked out Kate Beckinsale. Is that something that you are now focused on or will you still be looking for success in the welterweight and JMDD divisions?
Kelly: I mean of course if champions from those divisions call me out I will be there, gloves on and my attitude ready to knock them out and take the titles for myself. I am not and never will be afraid of any challenge.
But I'll admit things are becoming harder tackling these younger women. So why not try to conquer a new division? The whole cougars as I won't call it a seniors title haha. It is a interesting affair of the legends and older women getting a chance to have glory in real fights. Not these exhibitions that we see old men have, we are fighting to really hurt each other, dominate our long term rivals or to take down women we wanted a bat at in our primes but either schedules got in the way or the purses we fought for weren't agree on.
Tom: so to swing back on an earlier topic. You and Christina Hendricks have both won your recent fights. With some wondering if on your paths to a shot at Stana Katic for the jaguars title that you will face off once again. You of course won the lone fight you both had in 2019. Christina reportedly would love a rematch, would you fight her again?
Kelly: oh definitely. Christina and me are not friends by any stretch. When we fought I got a taste of her power as she did me. I know I have said it but I can overstate how competitive I am. Me and her are both alpha women, let's be frank on that. We are dominate any room we are in with our assets and personalities. So you put us nose to nose and we will naturally go for each other.
I'll give Christina props that she is powerful but I showed I can take the hits; while she simply couldn't, I battered her down. If she wants the rematch then it'll come but on my terms. She ducked me for a good while after our early attempts were stopped by our agents. Once they were out the way she didn't want to know until it was too late and she had to face me.
I'll say this directly to Christina so one of her friends or her fans can show her this. I want to be the Jaguar champion and if it benefits me then I will fight you. I don't like you one bit Christina, so honestly I think you'll hear from me over the next few months and we might need to settle a few things. (Kelly cups her tits in her top as a challenge to Christina.)
Tom: wow! Sadly that's all we have time for. I know I could talk to you all day, thank you so much for giving up your time to chat to me.
Kelly: I hope I get to come back before long Tom. Thanks to all my wonderful fans by the way, keep cheering me on and I will keep winning titles.
Tom: so that's it for this week. Thank you to everyone who took the time to check these posts. To those who voted and to Vassago for writing his bout this week. We will be back next Sunday for the next edition of the Real View.
