Real View Intro: Hello ladies and gentleman; this week we saw the annual Crossover Preview card which showcases what is ahead this month. The BBU, ACB and FCBA comes together to make dream bouts and to see where the talent really is in the celebrity female boxing world.
We also had a fun bout last night as the BBU Arena in Cardiff as former BBU bantamweight champion Dorota Rabczewska returned to the ring after a short break to train up the next generation of Polish fighters. Her opponent Chloe Goodman wanted to show her that she wasn't missed.
As always we recommend that if you haven't read the bouts from this past week that you go look them up. We will of course be spoiling them in our reviews. While also you will be robbing yourself the enjoyment of wonderfully written fights.

Part 1: Bethany Lily April Vs Kate Upton II JMDD This was the main event of the annual Crossover Preview card to get this special month started. Of course if you have been following the BBU over the last two years this has been one of the premiere rivalries. Yet this is only the second time Bethany Lily April and Kate Upton have actually had a chance to hit each other in anger. Both usually kept apart by other fights coming along or one being in another country.
There first fight came about after months of pundits and fans comparing the two after Bethany became one of the fastest to win a title in their career in her fifth fight. Kate of course has dealt with people being dubbed the new her, so hearing about a British Kate Upton wasn't exactly anything new. They fought for the diamond encrusted title bra and Kate after a war emerged the victor in the fight of the year.
Fast forwards to this past Thursday. Both were decked out and showed off their impressive bodies. Eyes full of fire with no titles on the line, just a pure grudge and lots of pride on the line to settle. If you want no spoilers to this bout I urge you to go look it up, I mean you should be checking the bouts that are here anyway. 😜
The first few rounds set the tone of the hard, both hitting hard and trying to establish control. Bethany looked good when she got in tight to Kate. She is several inches smaller then Kate and she shows her raw power when she is allowed to, Kate meanwhile has power in both fists too. She needed range to work from so boxed more at midrange.
First proverbial blood went to Kate as she hurt Bethany in the fifth and in the seventh she was forced to take a knee. Bethany got up but looked to be hurting as Kate looked to end it.
Problem for Kate was she started walking into several clean shots, clearly thinking her rival was done for. That mistake would lead to the end as Kate would eat a liver shot that set her up for a fall! Kate couldn't get up and Bethany has evened the score to 1-1 in their feud.
It was another epic JMDD fight between two of the toughest, strongest and all round meanest JMDD fighters around. Judging by how Bethany went at Kate without a shred of mercy in the post fight humiliation, this feud seems far from over between these two alpha blondes. This is the biggest victory in the career of Bethany. Can she build off it and someday become a two time JMDD world champion?

Part 2: Kym Graham Vs Chrissy Teigen JMDD This was an intriguing bout as on one side of the ring stood the undefeated after her debut fight Kym Graham, the Geordie beauty used to being in Page Three. In the other corner stood world renowned model Chrissy Teigen, who has only won one bout in twelve bouts. Could Chrissy get win number two or did Kym keep her unbeaten run going?
Kym certainly showed no respect in the build up for Chrissy. Both hurled insults at each other and it felt like a real grudge was forming between two women on opposite sides of the star power scale. In terms of boxing skills we'd find out which one was the better soon enough.
The fight started with Kym looking to make the early going hard for the FCBA visitor. Chrissy getting roughed up and moved around the ring. That brought a smile to the face of Kym's corner team when she returned to them.
Afterwards Chrissy started to show some of her boxing skills. While her record is dismal. Chrissy has done training in Thailand and isn't someone who doesn't know how to throw a punch. Kym maybe a little too cocky after a solid opening round, was getting caught more easily then her fans would like to see.
By the fourth round Graham was clearly getting annoyed. She came out fighting hard, Chrissy tried to match her but several uppercuts rocked her back. In the fifth round it was all over as Chrissy couldn't take the punishment being dealt to her. Showing why she is somewhat a glass cannon.
Kym gets another win on the board. She still has some learning to do before she can join the likes of Cheryl Cole as a Geordie world female celebrity boxing champion. She does have solid power and good boxing. It's the moments she loses focus that hurts her. Get rid of that and she will become a real contender.

Part 3: Dua Lipa Vs Helena Mattsson Dua Lipa continues to try to earn her way into BBU lightweight title contention as she signed up to fight veteran Helena Mattsson. Who has history with Dua's stable as she has beaten Dua's friend and stablemate Kelly Gale twice. Would Dua be added to the résumé of Helena or would the Swede end up down and out at the feet of the Brit?
Unlike the other bouts on the preview card; these two were quite respectful, though quite firm that they'd go through the other to get into title contention. That respect was shown on fight night as they started off the opening round with a little nervousness before laying into each other.
Helena set the early pace as she set out her stall. The plan seemed simple, keep Dua under wraps, smother her work and pound her body. It worked for good portions of the fight as Dua was getting caught up in the ropes or in a corner by the older fighter.
While Dua was getting a work out by her opponent. She showed flashes of her brilliance with quick fire combos, moving around the ring when she found space to pepper the face and torso of Helena. Both adapted to each other as the rounds went along.
The end came in the sixth round as one mistake cost Helena. She got caught and she was soon sent tumbling down to her back. Dua got the win as she continues to move forwards towards a title shot. Helena meanwhile now has two losses back to back.
It will be interesting to see if Kelly might look back in the direction of Helena again. The BBU lightweight division is certainly getting heated around the top table as different challengers duke it out for the shot at the world title.

Part 4: Dorota Rabczewska (Doda) Vs Chloe Goodman Last night we got a return bout of the ever controversial Doda to the ring. The former BBU bantamweight champion has been working hard at training the next generation of Polish fighters, wether to replace her or simply as a vanity project to prove how skillful she is at this sport I don't know. She is always a welcome sight in the ring as she certainly brings drama wherever she goes.
Her opponent Chloe Goodman meanwhile hasn't a great record with only two wins in six bouts. She hoped that Doda was ring rusty and had simply taken too much punishment over the years that she could swoop in to gain the biggest win of her career.
Both were certainly fired up judging by the insults and threats they made in their pre-match comments. The intensity from there translated to the early action as both women tore into each other. Chloe wanted to prove a point as she took the fight to her more decorated opponents.
But for all the intensity for Goodman, she was simply being beaten back after that point. Doda is known for her heavy punches, well this was target practice at times as she slugged her foe across the face, causing some swelling and a cut to appear. The finish came in the fifth as Chloe run out of steam and was simply blasted down to her back, out for the count with her eyes shut.
Impressive win for Doda and she certainly wasn't in the mood for making friends, more looking for enemies as she called out Chloe's Fight Club UK manager Katie Price to duke it out. Katie took umbridge at the insults thrown her way, accepting a future contest with Doda. That should certainly be a lively affair, the build up will be as box office.
That's all we have time for folks, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read these posts. Also thank you to Vassago for his writing this week. We will be back next Sunday morning for the next edition of the Real View.
