Part 4: An interview with Michelle KhareTom: hey gang! We are proud to say we have been talking to Youtuber and former professional cyclist Michelle Khare. Here is the chat we had with.
(Michelle is on the screen in her living room sitting on a black sofa with a big smile. She is wearing a black vest with black joggers.)Tom: hi Michelle, we are honoured to have you on here and we know you have big news you have to share with all our wonderful BBU fans.
Michelle: yes, so I am always up for a challenge and boxing has been something I have been training over the past year and a bit. I have had one fight with the gloves on and well I am proud to announce I am coming to the BBU Arena to make my debut.
I will be taking on Helen Skelton; who herself has had a fight for charity. I can't wait for the pay per view to come so I can get into the ring after all this training.
Tom: now as you have said you have had one fight in a boxing ring. You fought Andrea Botez for "Creators Clash" and won your five round contest on points. We have a photo from the build up to the fight.
(Andrea Botez on the left, Michelle on the right side)Michelle: I look so fierce there haha. I fought my heart out that night. I had trained for a year, partly for my channel, the other and more important was of course for charity. I am proud of my performance, even if I went home with a broken nose haha.
But seriously want to say I love Andrea, I see she is fighting in celebrity boxing too and anyday she wants a rematch, I am proud to step into the ring again with her. Hopefully we both won't tire as quickly next time. (Winking to the camera.)
Tom: it should also be said that seven years ago you did an MMA fight for BuzzFeed with your friend there to highlight what women could do. How much did that help prepare you for what looks to be an avenue you are heading down?
(Michelle kicking her friend Jordan in their MMA rules contest)Michelle: I should say that was one of the hardest things I had ever done. The training was absolutely killer as even as a professional cyclist, I never trained as hard as I did over those sixty days. I gained muscles I didn't know I had, I learned how to throw a solid punch and kick. I felt strong and I grew in confidence.
Still I will say that fight with Jordan was hard. She is a trooper and we didn't hold back on each other. Of course we hugged afterwards and felt silly doing it after trying to knock each other out. That helped me out so much when I look back on my time doing that.
Tom: so how confident are you heading into this latest challenge for you? Helen is older then you by a few years but she has BBU experience and she has fought outside the organisation as you said.
Michelle: I take everything I put my name to seriously. I have watched videos and Helen has amazing technical skills, she has a positive record and she seems a wonderful person outside the ring but I can see those eyes of a tiger as they say inside it haha.
It will be a wonderful test of if I can seriously do this. We are both warriors and I know with this being ten rounds that most likely one of us isn't seeing the final bell. That scares me a little, it also strangely has me buzzing as I knew I could be knocked out by Jordan or Andrea, this time it is more likely to happen though. I just can't wait till fight night, even as I know my stomach will be full of butterflies and legs feel like jelly before I go into the arena. May the better woman win as they say.
Tom: sadly that is all the time we have, thank you so much for being a wonderful guest. I am excited for your BBU debut. That is only a few short weeks away.
Michelle: always happy for a chat. Can't wait to fight so hope to see my fans in the crowd cheering me on.
Tom: that's it for this week folks. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read these posts. We hope as always you enjoyed them, we will be back next Sunday morning for the next edition of the Real View.
