Real View Intro: Hello ladies and gentleman; the BBU has certainly had an interesting start to the year already with the Coronation Street tournament. As we do annually we will be focused on doing our review of some of the big events from last year on this show as we look to get back into the swing of things. Hopefully you haven't missed us too much.
As always we recommend that if you haven't read the bouts from this past week that you go look them up. We will of course be spoiling them in our reviews. While also you will be robbing yourself the enjoyment of wonderfully written fights.

Part 1: January to March 2023 We kicked off 2023 with some new faces like Maki Itoh and Kym Graham, while former champions like Ivana Baquero aimed to return to the top of their divisions were in action.
Title wise we had a slew of title fights over the first three months. Examples were Jorgie Porter seeing off Marnie Simpson for the flyweight title. Hailey Clauson begun her year that would see her go on to be the fighter of the year by defeating Nabilla Benattia.
In grudge fight news, Ivana stepped into the ring with her historic rival Jenna Louise Coleman. It was a fight of the year contender that ended with Jenna slaying her proverbial dragon as Ivana has been a thorn in her side since the Spanish fighter came to the BBU.
While another highlight was the bare Knuckle boxing bout between Una Healy and Stella Maxwell for Saint Patrick's Day. It was a heck of a brawl between them with Una emerging the top fighter in Ireland on that night.

Part 2: April to June 2023 April was a big month for the BBU as it truly got into full swing. Kelly Brook would unsuccessfully challenge Hailey Clauson for the JMDD title in a dream match. On the same night former champion Zara Holland wasn't able to wrestle the flyweight title from Jorgie Porter, with Jorgie going on to defend her title against Bianca Atzei a month later, which was followed up by another successful defence again Lli Cheng.
Off the pay per view and onto the streaming services. Alesha Dixon (whose a hall of famer remember) was used as a punch bag by several new Polish stars. Ola Ciupa was the first to batter senseless the legend. Natalia Siwiec and Klaudia El Dursi would follow suit over this period of time.
We also made history with the first ever BBU English welterweight champion. Gemma Atkinson and Leah Francis were giving the honour of being the first two to compete for the new belt. It was a war between them in a fight of the year contender. Leah managed to emerge the champion.
Sophia Thomalla meanwhile went to war again with Maisie Smith over the bantamweight belt. The undefeated German star was able to dust off her ginger rival to keep her belt. Could anyone beat Thomalla or would it be another dominant year for her?
We finished this period off with the Clash of Champions card, one of the biggest events of the year with four title fights. The biggest being Hailey Clauson wanting to win her first linear world title to join her BBU JMDD title. BBU Welterweight champion Josephine Skriver stood in her way and boy did the fight not disappoint. Josephine was able to knock out Clauson to prove she deserved to be in the pound for pound argument.

Part 3: July to September 2023 As always in July we celebrated our connection to the ACB and FCBA in crossover month. Where fighters from the three organisations duked it out for supremacy. Of course it's a month where we root for the BBU fighters but it is always a fun time to see fighters we normally don't see come over to see what it's like here.
Highlights from the events over that month saw the likes of Natalie Alyn Lind and Maisie Smith battle it out again. Both young guns simply hate each other and it is arguably the best cross organisation feud going today. We had the BBU debut of FCBA legend Evangeline Lily as she beat Hannah Ware, while we had two amazing fights, Bethany Lily April earned her revenge against Kate Upton and Michelle Keegan went to war with Jessica Alba. Michelle came out on top of that.
August was one of the biggest months for drama as the Dutch revolution occured. Robin Holzken dethroned Holly Peers of the BBU lightweight title. While on the same night Romee Strijd would topple Josephine Skriver for the welterweight belt. While outside of title action Jutta Leerdam also was winning fights for Holland to show that country was a superpower for boxing.
September came with a bang as YouTube star Michelle Khare made her debut with a win. Hailey Clauson had the fight of the year against Kara Del Toro, where she retained her JMDD title. While Sophia Thomalla remained undefeated as the bantamweight champion by defeating Nadia Forde. We should also mention the exciting ACB twins Tournament ended with a hell of a contest between Leah Perkins and Ashley Mescia, Leah becoming the first ever twins tournament champion.

Part 4: October to December 2023 Into the home stretch we go! We saw the first defence of the English Welterweight title as Leah Francis retained against Alexina Graham. Hailey Clauson knocked off the challenge of Nicola Cavanis for the JMDD title and Catalina Otalvaro beat the spirited challenge of Joann Krupa to retain the JMD title.
November was a quieter month on pay per view. On BBU TV and on streaming services was where the highlights were. Bare knuckle boxing is always something for two proud women to engage in, Samia Ghadie and Roxanne Pallett certainly fit that billing, they also hate each other with a burning passion. Samia won the battle but the war you have to assume will never be over between them.
We also saw a gem of a bout between former flyweight champion and pound for pound top fighter Diana Korkunova, who took on rookie Savannah McCray, Savannah had gotten under the skin of the former champ to get the fight. Both left it in the ring going for each other without any mercy. Diana left the ring the winner but Savannah will hopefully come back again because she looked like a potential good fighter.
Now to December and of course the annual Boxing Day card. Every year it is a highlight of the year, this one was no exception to that rule. For example we saw Michelle Khare and Andrea Botez fight once more, both had fought for charity but this one was deeply serious. While they went into the fight somewhat friendly, the punches they were landing were certainly not. In the end Andrea got her revenge by knocking out Michelle. Could we see a third act between them?
We also had a bare Knuckle grudge bout between Una Healy and Jennifer Metcalfe, for months both had been giving the other a few choice words shall we say. Leading up to them agreeing to shed the gloves to fight. It was a nasty clash which ended with Jennifer knocking out Una. Jennifer would mock Una afterwards to show that they simply will never respect each other.
Our final main event of the year saw Josephine Skriver take on the now Hall of Famer Kelly Brook. It was very respectful between the two former welterweight champions, once the bell rung like were like two Hellcats seeking to destroy their opponent. Josephine certainly didn't have it her own way but in the end she managed to knockout Kelly in the seventh round. Maybe not exactly how Josephine wanted to show she was still one of the best in the division, she got the job done is all she'll care about.
Ok folks that's all we have time for! Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read these posts. Hopefully you enjoyed them. We will be back next Sunday morning for the next edition of the Real View.
