Part 1: Coronation Street tournament Quarter Final December saw the beginning of the tournament with eight Coronation Street alumni duking it out to prove they are the toughest from the cobbles. Fans voted for the seeding for the event.
First up the number one Michelle Keegan took on the eighth seed Samia Ghadie. Both women certainly came prepared as they slugged it out over seven rounds. Samia rolled back the years to push her younger opponent. Still Michelle proved too much for her as she knocked out Samia to cement her semi final place.
Next up Helen Flanagan as the forth seed took on fifth seed Bhavna Limbachia, who was making her debut against the former BBU bantamweight champion. Helen simply was too big for Bhavna as she knocked the rookie around the ring. An uppercut in the third round put Limbachia out of her misery.
The third bout of the tournament saw Charlotte Jordan look to make a statement against Tina O'Brien, who was making her comeback off a long lay off. Tina looked badly rusty as Charlotte after a slow start, ended up bartering O'Brien to the canvas to finish the fight in the fourth round.
Georgia May Foote as the number two seed had plenty of pressure to prove she deserved her placing in the heart of the fans. Nikki Sanderson wanted to prove she was still good enough to hang with the new breed of fighters. Nikki shocked Georgia by getting at her from the opening bell and first putting down Foote. Finishing her off moments later in the first round to advance.

Part 2: Semi Final one In the first semi final we got a clash of two former BBU champions. Former Flyweight champion Michelle Keegan took on former Bantamweight champion Helen Flanagan.
Both are fan favourites and this was the third time they had met in the ring. Michelle won by knockout both times, each of those occasions Helen was ahead on the scorecards in those bouts. So could Helen finally finish the job or did Michelle stamp her authority in their rivalry.
Again Helen kicked off the opening two rounds against Michelle in top form. Michelle trying to keep off Helen as the former Rosie Webster was bullying her around the ring to the delight of her corner crew.
But Michelle's speed and technical skills showed up again to bash Helen around her face. The former bantamweight champion was able to get inside at times to push back Michelle. Still Keegan was proving too elusive for Flanagan to pin down for a long time.
After going down in the fourth round, Helen held onto the sixth. That was where her being beaten around was too much for her. With Helen going down to the canvas like a sack of spuds. Out for the count before she hit it.

Part 3: Semi Final two The second semi final saw Charlotte Jordan take on Nikki Sanderson, Nikki had pulled off one upset, could she do another? Nikki had been on a bad run of results over recent years, to defeat Georgia May Foote certainly helped to take some of those defeats off people's minds.
The bout started with both a little cagey. Of course with the importance of a victory for both women, they came into the fight with more harder punches flying between them as the first two rounds went by with both evenly matched.
Charlotte once the third round started found another gear. Nikki struggled to hold off Charlotte as the younger woman was hammering her around her face. The shades of the Sanderson who had been on such an awful run showed up as she looked somewhat scared to throw punches back at her foe.
In the end the fifth round came and Nikki was pressed back around near the ropes. A devastating right hook on the button sent Nikki down onto her back. She wasn't going to beat the count and probably could have stayed down till the count of a hundred. Meaning Charlotte advanced to the final to take on Michelle Keegan.

Part 4: Coronation Street tournament final The final was highly anticipated after such engaging fights before it. The number one seed Michelle Keegan had certainly proven that the fans had choose right. While the third seed Charlotte Jordan had fought her way through the veterans of the flyweight division to get to this stage.
Both women stepped into ring looking tense. For Michelle this was about getting herself back in the title picture for the first time in recent years. Charlotte wanted to prove she deserves to be in the conversation for her first title shot.
The first round saw both set their stalls out. Charlotte looking to overwhelm her opponent on the inside. Michelle wanted to use her experience and footwork to cause her less experienced foe trouble. By the end of the round they were staring daggers at each other to show the intensity involved in the contest.
Charlotte grabbed control of the rounds as she worked the body. Michelle wasn't so excited by being crowded by her opponent. Charlotte scored a knockdown in round four to cement her lead as Michelle looked out of sorts.
But you can't write off Keegan so easily. She started to land counters to throw off the rhthym of her opponent. Charlotte started to open up too much in her pursuit of Michelle. Leading to both being cut and tiring as they entered the later rounds.
In the seventh round Charlotte found herself getting pinned down into corners and beaten up. Charlotte got out of them, problem was Michelle wasn't giving her anytime to think as it was a butt whooping to say the least. In the end a right cross sent Jordan to her back and it was nighty night for Charlotte as Michelle won the tournament by knockout.
After the final bell Michelle was quick to call out BBU flyweight champion Jorgie Porter. It will be intriguing to see if Jorgie will accept the challenge. The main thing is this tournament seems to have rejuvenated the career of Michelle.
That's all we have time for folks! Thank you to everyone who took the time to read these posts and to Knowlesley for writing up the Coronation Street tournament. We will be back next sunday morning for the next edition of the Real View.
