Yasmin Verheijen vs Tanya Mityushina
(Lioness Club vs BBU Independent)
(13-10, 13 KO vs 2-3, 2 KO)
Results: BBU; Story: Vassago
BEFORE: Both these models need a win and one might argue the entire lightweight division could use a performance boost so this match-up is more than just a coin toss as even BBU TV's Denise van Outen struggles to pick a favorite. Yasmin Verheijen has the better record and more fights under her belt but Tanya Mityushina is one of these girls you can't underestimate because she owns quite a nasty punch and vows to destroy the Dutch pageant winner tonight.
Yasmin Verheijen wears a white bikini set & orange gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a curled ponytail. Tanya Mityushina wears a beige bikini set & red gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1:
Tanya shows no signs of rustiness as she engages in a speedy jabbing exchange from point blank range and shocks the Lioness entourage by blasting Yasmin with the supreme series on the chin that quickly opens the flood gates! Most of the audience didn't expect such an aggressive start but both these models have a point to prove and simply want that quality win to kickstart their careers. Tanya does a great job in slicing through the brunette's guard however Yasmin spins out of the trap and displays supreme mobility leaving the blonde to heave through thin air come the final minute but the intended counter-punching drill misses the target and Verheijen can't take full advantage of her efforts while Mityushina rocks her with a late right hand on the nose to still carry the round on points.
Round 2:
Yasmin lands some quick body shots to open the second and she freezes the older model to the spot before an uppercut series connects with the jaw and sends Tanya into a lenghty tailspin. The blonde somehow doesn't look so ruthless when getting hit but maybe she wants to lure Verheijen into some kind of a trap as the Dutch woman actually struggles to dominate in mid-range and only lands some single punches on target while Mityushina slips by majority of her efforts. A late charge clocks Verheijen on the chin and Tanya goes to jug muggin' work which catches the fellow model off guard wholesale and backs her into the corner where the blonde cleans out her exposed midriff and takes the second round on the bounce to cause a little meltdown from coach Mel B. in the Lioness corner!
Round 3:
Yasmin seeks blood and she actually finds it when she whacks Tanya across the nose in "do or die" approach which the older model was happy to soak up until she got tagged by that one major punch after all. Ugh! Tanya wobbles to the side and gets beaten for the overhand charge thereafter which allows Yasmin to settle in with the superior delivery... she backs the brave but still hittable opponent onto the ropes where both women trade hard leather and inflict more damage upstairs. Tanya's nose bleeds more heavily but she manages to stun Yasmin with a deep gash under the left eye and then smack her on the chin to sink the pageant winner into loud spasms. Another left/right combo nails Verheijen on each temple and she slumps onto the ropes where she gets saved by the bell just as Tanya was set to blow her up according to Denise van Outen in the booth.
Round 4:
No luck for Yasmin early in the fourth when Tanya nails her with more head shots and works on that gash wound until she pummels the suddenly vulnerable foe onto the ropes where she glues her mitts into the brunette's face... and she breaks her resilience half-way through the merciless head-hunting challenge. Yasmin tried to match the lethal formula but just got beaten to the post and she gets SMKOKED by a brutal left hook on the ear that SENDS HER DOWN FOR THE COUNT amid a loud cheer from the audience. Woof. Yasmin in a brave customer and she gets up at seven but Tanya is all over her and she hammers a booming right hook on the nose that possibly causes a fracture ouright and poor Yasmin checks out again letting the blonde to carve her up and beat her into complete stupor. Uh-oh!!! Ref STEPS IN to halt the beating with Yasmin almost sliding through the ropes and just crashing down on her backside moments later. TKO4 Tanya Mityushina!!!
AFTER: Lioness coach Mel B. is lost for words staring down an invisible mark ahead and she'll have some explaining to do after this one! A genuine stinker for the Barnet-based stable which further damages Yasmin's chances to remain a viable lightweight contender going forward. Denise van Outen claims the Dutch model is too skilled to drop down to gatekeeper status and maybe Christine Bleakley should step in and provide some answers? There's no love lost between van Outen and Mrs. Lampard on a daily basis but something is clearly wrong with Verheijen so all hands on deck approach could be in order before it's too late.
Official Result: Tanya Mityushina def. Yasmin Verheijen KO4.
