Part 1: BBU English welterweight title bout: Maya Jama Vs Leah Francis The English Welterweight title has been an interesting addition to the BBU since it's inception last year. Leah Francis has been the dominant force in England at the weight. Maya Jama moved up from lightweight to see if she could make an instant impact in the division.
An intriguing start to the contest saw Leah look to use her raw power against Maya. The challenger had other ideas and in the second round would catch a slightly unbalanced Leah off guard to send her down to the canvas for a count of seven. Leah looked pissed off as she returned to her corner.
Leah tried to match her rival but round after round went by with Maya looking the superior boxer. The speed and footwork of Maya looked matched by her power at the weight. Leah went down in the fourth for a count of eight.
Blood started leaking from the nostrils of Francis as the fight went on. Jama beating her around the ring. The champion was showing her toughness but of course sooner then later that had to wear out. Maya knocked out Leah with a brutal right hook to end the champions reign. Long live the new Queen as they say.
Maya looked phenomenal it has to be said. A change in weight might really benefit her long term. She looked to carry good power, her footwork was on point and she had good hand speed. Of course it has to be said that Leah isn't the best in the division, so can Maya handle a more mobile fighter?

Part 2: Molly Smith Vs Georgia Steel Two former Love Island alumni clashed in a grudge fight. Both needing a win to start their careers off in a positive light. The crowd certainly seemed happy to see them judging by all the whistling. I'll admit I don't know that much about the show so I was interested in their fighting abilities.
For all the rage in their eyes, the first round was a little tentative as both got a feel for each other. Of course there were a few hard hitting exchanges when they got in close and saw the red mist. Georgia seemed keen to try to box on the outside compared to Molly.
After that though Molly started to get her pressure going on her foe. Georgia was making mistakes as she couldn't seem to land anything flush to keep her opponent off her. It led to a knockdown at the end of the second round as Molly caught Georgia flush on the chin to put her on her backside for an eight count.
While Georgia got up to fight on. She looked bereft of confidence as Molly was simply walking her down. It didn't take much longer then a minute in the third round for a brutal right hook to end the night for Georgia with her on her back and out for the count.
I won't make too many judgements. Molly looks to have some nice skills to dodge and skill. She did face an opponent that got flustered and started to make some bad mistakes. When Molly faces a more experienced opponent with a decent chance to push her, then I'll give a rating.

Part 3: Amber Davis Vs Frankie Bridge Another Love Island babe made her first steps into the BBU. Amber Davis didn't pick the easiest option in Frankie Bridge, who while she is far from championship level, she has scored some good wins in the past. The biggest issue arguably for Frankie has been her activity, lack of those mainly.
There were a few tense words exchanged before the bell but it didn't seem too much. The opening few rounds were intriguing to watch. The opener was mainly just getting to know what the other brought to the party. Frankie came out hard in the second round to smack back Amber before roles were reversed in the third.
Over time Frankie was being worn out. Even though she landed some beautiful combinations from range. Amber was looking at her best when she could land body shots. Frankie was breathing harder by the sixth round as Amber was making her work harder then she clearly wanted too.
The eighth round came with Frankie almost panting. Amber simply needed a nasty straight land on the button to make Frankie crash onto her back. Frankie didn't have the strength to rise back up as she was counted out, giving Amber her debut victory in a hard fought contest.
There's two schools of thought to look at this one. Amber either isn't much for power and this wasn't that impressive or you judge it on Frankie not being a push over. If you look at it that way then Amber proved herself under tough conditions that she can win when faced with someone prepared to smack her back. Time will tell of course but I have a little optimism for her.

Part 4: Kears Kat's new signings So this has certainly been an interesting time for signings if you follow the NFL. Well the BBU seems to be going through its own free agency signing period. The latest stable to partake was the Kears Kat's stable. One of the oldest in all the BBU, they want some new blood to change their fortunes when it comes to combating the younger stables coming through.
First up we have discussed one signing on this show, so we won't go into any details but Georgia Steel is under their banner and well it has to be said her debut went poorly. She will need to learn to live under pressure if she is to make it big in the BBU.
The second announcement they made was for Irish model Holly Carpenter. She is a former Miss Ireland contestant, has been on a few reality shows in Ireland like MasterChef there and she comes into the Welterweight division with a few rivals from her nation. Vogue Williams for example might be watching her closely.
Then the third signing was Georgia Harrison. I won't go into too much details of what she has been doing lately for the whole legal stuff she had to deal with a certain ex. But she is a former "TOWIE" girl and Love island alumni. It should be also said that she has actually fought in a fight before. Specifically she fought a YouTuber on a Fame MMA event and won. She might prove the best signing of the three if she can prove that wasn't a fluke and she can take the rough and tumble of the BBU lifestyle.
That's all we have time for folks! Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to read these posts. I hope you have had a lot of fun. Also I want to say a big thank you to Knowlesley for writing the bouts I spoke about. We will be back next Sunday morning for the next edition of the Real View!
