Alice Barlow vs Heida Reed (0-1 vs 1-2, 1 KO) Results: BBU; Story: VassagoBEFORE: Alice Barlow's BBU career got off to a bad start when Vicky Pattison knocked her out back in April however the shapely Coronation Street blonde thinks she can perform much better against fellow actress Heida Reed tonight. The Icelandic brunette hasn't set the world on fire either, she first lost a bitter duel against her 'Poldark' co-star Eleanor Tomlinson and only toppled journeywoman Karine Vanasse at the second time of asking. However she dismisses Alice as "another blonde bimbo" and vows to beat her up which bodes well for a potential heated contest between two women who are yet to enter serious BBU contention. Alice Barlow wears a crimson bikini set and black gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a half-up ponytail. Heida Reed wears a light blue bikini set and red gloves. Medium-lenght dark brown hair straight. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division. Round 1: Heida's laid-back demeanour meets a completely opposite reaction from Alice who jumps into a jabbing menace literally aimed at knocking the older actress out inside the opening minute! Several crisp punches land on target before Heida's guard actually begins to resemble one and both women engage in a quick close range exchange where Alice remains on top after blasting her foe across the mouth. The core strenght of her punches is questioned thoigh as she fails to wobble the brunette despite posting superior numbers and her effort doesn't meet the result; in fact Heida cracks a nasty hook right at the bell which finds the blonde's temple and wobbles her back on the spot. Round 2: Barlow keeps firing away and remains committed to the aggressive tactics while Reed just blocks them off and reverts into single-striking counter-attack which allows her to stay in the action without actually suffering any significant damage. Most of Alice's punches crash off the visibly improved Icelandic guard and when Heida finally begins to pick her opponent off, the blonde stumbles to her right and gets whooped by a quick hook on the nose that dumps her on the ropes. Reed still lacks the evil edge here but she manages to keep the younger actress in a precarious position and buries her under a steady jabbing onslaught that Barlow survives without any worrying signs. Rounds 3 & 4: This is a familiar pattern now; Barlow dominates the opening minute before the action slows down in the second and Reed jumps on the late rally to win the final minute each time. There's no way Alice's debut could have scared the 'Poldark' actress so much hence her defensive approach meets little understanding in the audience and the BBU TV booth. It's not like she's toying with the Corrie girl either however she does land the better punches and smacks Alice's guard aside in confident manner towards the latter stages of each round before driving a promising series on the guts that really seems to weaken Barlow's resistance. The blonde must clinch her foe to halt the midriff chopping and groans in visible discomfort whereas the brunette simply leans on her and still works the single hand to a frustrating degree. Round 5: This fight will be probably decided by the sheer amount of punches thrown at one of these two women but early in the fifth Reed moves on the front (left) leg and catches the blonde by surprise. She whacks her between the mitts and finds the jaw before chopping into her guts again... Alice really struggles to embrace the body punishment but this time doesn't apply the clinching respite in time and gets CAUGHT with a nasty uppercut on the jaw. She sinks on her knees just as the brunette doubles up with a quick left/right on the temples... AND DOWN GOES THE BLONDE!!! The injection of power suddenly hands the Icelandic girl an unexpected break-through and Alice only sits down during the count before mounting a late recovery at eight. She doesn't look so aggressive anymore and gets pounded back to the corner where Heida really unloads the juice and pierces the ribcage in full throttle... Ugh! Barlow drops her guard but can't stop moaning her heart out and just lacks any sign of resistance SO THE REF JUMPS IN to stop the contest!!! That looked premature but on the other hand, Alice is still a newcomer to boxing and doesn't warrant the benefit of the doubt like some other veterans. TKO5 Heida Reed!!! AFTER: The brunette looks as shocked as anyone inside the Cardiff Arena and can't believe her luck she earned the stoppage in such a controversial fashion. Alice doesn't even look all that hurt but still checks up on the ribcage damage and there are vsible pink patches on both sides which indicates that Heida's execution wasn't all that mediocre tonight. Since Barlow's promise of blowing Reed away failed to materialize, it's no wonder she avoids an eye contact with the victorious brunette during the official post-fight announcement. Heida's cheeky smile suggests she doesn't value her foe above the punchbag level herself but still tells Kate Abdo that "she broke that blonde bimbo mentally and that's all that matters". It's hard to argue that logic even in wake of the somewhat premature stoppage; the fight itself lacked the proper intensity level and tuned out to be a very suitable undercard opener. Final result: Heida Reed def. Alice Barlow TKO5.

Lucy Griffiths vs Eleanor Tomlinson (Beever's Babes vs BBU Independent) (0-4 vs 2-0, 2 KO) Results: BBU; Story: VassagoBEFORE: Allthough Eleanour Tomlinson's slender looks can perhaps deceive, she's still a surprising choice as Lucy Griffiths' BBU comeback opponent. After all, Tomlinson upset her 'Poldark' co-star Heida Reed on her debut almost twelve months ago before swiftly blowing the doors off veteran Kelly Reilly. Meanwhile Lucy Griffiths has served as the proverbial cannon fodder on the Asylum PPVs the past couple of years and is yet to win a boxing contest outright after posting 0-4 record during her initial tenure five years ago. However the Brighton-born brunette is still only 30 years old and enjoys a great time on the small screen with her American TV series 'Preacher' renewed for a second season this summer. Lucy Griffiths wears a red bikini set and black gloves. Shoulder-lenght dar brown hair straight, curled at the bottom. Eleanor Tomlinson wears a black one-piece swimsuit and white gloves. Long carrot colored hair tied in a thick braid. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division. Round 1: Lucy lacks a little confidence and prefers to hang back early which gives Eleanor plenty of opportunity to stick her jabs on target during the opening minute. There's no real power behind these efforts but the sheer amount of workload pushes Lucy backwards as she loops half-hearted hooks over the top trying to stop the redhead's move. Tomlinson keeps working her drill though and stuffs the brunette against the ropes come the final minute but gets clinched as she wants to deliver some proper body shots and Griffiths does well to avoid a really terrible opener here. Round 2: More of the same in the second, Lucy hangs back as if her plan includes a straight-forward conterattack but Tomlinson keeps hassling her around the ring and looks more agile of the two. The single punches she lands on target don't cause much damage at this stage and she pauses briefly several times to search for a better opening which allows Lucy to put more distance between the two. The action slows down even further; Tomlinson drops the pursuit tactics as if she knows that Griffiths won't hurt her much regardless of the circumstances and winks back to the referee at the bell. Is she really that confident she can take down the Beever's lass anytime she wants to? Round 3: Beever's coach Denise Lewis wants her girl to wake up here before it's too late: "She's toying around here! Make her cocky ass pay for it!" Lucy nods back in approval and indeed she moves much quicker across the boards in the third with the redhead hopping around and settling for more single punches to dent Griffith's offensive plans. However she skims off the forearms several times and then gets WHACKED with a big left hand that finds the nose and sinks her on the heels! On comes Lucy! A sudden shift on tempo allows her to barge in to the body and drop the redhead on the ropes before a quick uppercut bounces off the chin and wraps Eleanor into immediate spasms. Lucy hauls in the juice and snaps her foe's head back a couple of times before another quick strike to the ribcage leaves Tomlinson gasping for air and clinching the fellow actress. Griffiths scores another solid series to the body in the closing seconds and now we have a real fight on our hands as Tomlinson is utterly furious over what happened here! Round 4: No messing around anymore as Eleanor jumps into a high-octane drill that hands Lucy's guard a real test early in the fourth. The sheer intensity of this attack should have tore the brunette's defense apart but Lucy ducks low and wades in on the ribcage, something the redhead fails to adjust to and another quick strike to the liver area suddenly makes the 'Poldark' actress scowl in pain and turn to the side. Lucy whacks her on the ear and literally shoves into the ropes where she leaps forward and slams a left hook on the nose that makes Eleanor squeal even louder than before. Griffiths switches low and keeps stacking up the numbers to the body while Tomlinson disappears behind a high earmuff and allows the brunette to clean out her midriff! Lucy gets so committed in her drill she fails to acknowledge the bell and has to be dragged away by the ref however Eleanor needs several seconds to recover her breath and things just don't look so good for her anymore. Round 5: Eleanor refuses to back off despite visible breathing problems during the break, she jumps in for another offensive tangle but is no longer the faster of the two and she gets beaten for a brutal right hook that finds her nose and half-spins her to the side on the spot. Lucy comes flying in and explores a hole below the elbow where she sticks her left glove and that one nails the redhead on the liver! Ugh! Tomlinson screams out and half-spins to the other side but Lucy hauls in a right cross AND KNOCKS HER DOWN on the spot! Eleanor gets wrenched to the canvas and she barely saw that last punch after wincing in pain through closed eyes! We have a genuine upset on the cards here in Cardiff! Eleanor rests on her left arm and still hugs the aching liver area at six before making a desperate effort to recover from this shocking knockdown. She eventually gets up at nine but is visibly hurt yet the ref allows the fight to continue. The problem is, Tomlinson's arms are no longer providing any protection upstairs and only cover the wounded liver area which allows Griffiths to smack clean punches right into her foe's face and Eleanor's carrot bride goes for a quick ride here as Denise Lewis urges Lucy to bash her face in! The older girl quickly pummels the hapless redhead back to the ropes and there's nothing coming back from Tomlinson anymore so the ref comes to his senses AND JUMPS IN TO PROTECT the battered woman from more damage. TKO5 Lucy Griffiths!!! AFTER: The upset is complete! Even Lucy can't believe it at first and freezes for several seconds to watch as the referee escorts the moaning redhead back to the medical crew. But coach Lewis knows all about winning and she lifts the stunned brunette off her feet and yells out at the chanting Welsh audience: "Did you see that? Did you see that?" Of course everyone saw that and even BBU TV's Kate Abdo must admit this was a fine performance from a girl whom was written off as a serious fighter years ago already. Maybe all these trips to the Asylum can teach you a thing or two after all? On the other hand Eleanor is guilty of a massive misjudgement as she obviously underestimated Griffith's offensive potential. Then again, who expected a winless jobber like Lucy to suddenly roar back into some serious action and actually deliver the result? The redhead's lukewarm approach in the opening couple of rounds only enraged Denise Lewis and she somehow sparked a proper boxing display from the hitherto lacklustre brunette. You just didn't see it coming and poor Eleanor learned all about it the hard way. Final result: Lucy Griffiths def. Eleanor Tomlinson TKO5.

Hannah Ware vs Roxanne McKee (BBU Independent vs Garnet Gunners UK) (2-0, 2 KO vs 3-9, 2 KO) Results: BBU; Story: VassagoBEFORE: The highly-touted Hannah Ware returns to action tonight and is the odds-on favorite to dominate the brave but otherwise lacklustre Roxanne McKee who hasn't won a fight since June 2014 when she upstaged Marion Cotillard. Hannah has herself knocked out the French actress on her BBU debut before stopping the notorious Brooke Vincent last fall. She'd have liked to compete a little more frequently but free agents usually struggle for consistent work so Kate Abdo reckons she'll have to make the most of tonight's opportunity to be still regarded as a hot prospect. Hannah Ware wears a black one-piece swimsuit and white gloves. Long dark brown hair wrapped in a loose bun at the back of her head. Roxanne McKee wears a red one-piece swimsuit and black gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division. Round 1: Hannah is the more aggressive of the two brunettes as they slug it out in the center of the ring and picks off the older woman from point-blank range which in turn forces Roxanne to cave in behind a high earmuff much quicker than she would have liked. However she's got no choice here as Hannah really wades in the juice and is determined to reel her back to the ropes. Roxanne thinks better off her turtle-like defense and tries to swing it out but misses the hooking approach and gets clubbed on the chin which only proves worse, she wobbles back on her heels and Ware just keeps piling on the pressure thereafter. She thumps the hapless opponent back to the turnbuckle before splitting her mitts and knocking more leather on the cheeks. Ugh! McKee drifts away on soft knees in the dying seconds and gets stacked up in the corner with Hannah raining punches left, right and center! Round 2: The ultra-aggressive approach from Ware gives her more success early in the second as she completely annihilates McKee's guard and begins to sway her head back & forth in another powerful display. Roxanne's response is putrid, she can barely land one punch for each three or four thrown and gets wrapped behind another earmuff come the one minute mark. Hannah bumps her in a phone booth-like charge and drops low to explore some options around the ribcage which only bends McKee into spasms once those punches find the target. Nobody inside the Cardiff Arena is surprised when the younger brunette eventually pummels her opponent onto the ropes again and the final minute is all about Ware one more time who just pounds away in fury and leaves McKee spitting out her gumshield at the bell. Round 3: Roxanne tries to mount a comeback here and does exceptionally well to stay in the mid-distance exchange during the opening minute, she even lands her best punch of the night catching Hannah's lips in the proccess but a clinching struggle that follows flames out the hopes of a swift turnaround. Both women wrestle around for real estate as the ref stays out of it but Hannah eventually breaks free and beats the fellow brunette for a sky hook that finds Roxanne's brow ridge and spins her to the side. She immediately leaps after her prey and sticks more jabs to the body which forces McKee to seek a clinching respite herself. The final minute brings more wrestling and shoving and even the ref has finally enough of this; however both women are reluctant to let go of each other until the bell. Round 4: McKee comes flying in with the initial punch, she nails the younger actress on the lips and even clips her jugs with a low half-uppercut however Ware soon establishes another aerial drill that smacks Roxanne's ponytail around her neck and drops her into a deep earmuff cover. A switch downstairs then finds the vulnerable spot and bends Roxanne forward, she bumps her chin against Hannah's shoulder and even though she locks another clinch, Ware just lashes out at her guts and drives her backwards into the ropes. McKee tries to swing from the back foot but gets countered as Hannah is just that little quicker in execution. She wraps the older brunette in a head hunting galore that leaves Roxanne aching in pain and sporting a couple of nasty bruises at the bell. Round 5: Another huge push from Ware splits McKee's mitts and the punches really begin to stack up now with the older brunette unable to block them off whatsoever. She gets rooted to the spot in the center of the ring and soon embarks on another moaning struggle that only fuels Hannah's determination; she dissects McKee's high guard and knocks more leather into the swollen face which eventually breaks Roxanne's resilience... SHE GOES DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE simply crumbling underneath the barrage. She takes a full eight count before getting up but she's more than rattled here and does little to halt the looming follow up. Hannah jumps at her with more hooking connection and pounds back to the ropes where Roxanne just wilts under more pressure and is unable to keep her gloves in tact anymore. Hannah drives forward from point-blank range showing her foe no mercy at all and she knocks her out when a double left/right combo connects with the nose AND SENDS McKEE SLIDING DOWN ON HER BUM WITH EYES CLOSED in the corner! KO5 Hannah Ware!!! AFTER: That was an impressive display of power from Hannah who maintains her perfect record. Meanwhile Roxanne's career seems to have stalled at the journeywoman level and she'll struggle to become more than just another punching target for all the upstarts and hot prospects around the league. Final result: Hannah Ware def. Roxanne McKee KO5.
