Alex Gerrard vs Jameela Jamil Tale of the tape: Alex Gerrard: Age:35 Height: 5'9 Record: 12-10-1 (10 kos) Vs Jameela Jamil: Age: 31 Height: 5'11 Record: 5-2 (5 kos)
The first of the quarter final bouts sees Alex and Jameela look to take a step closer to winning their first titles, the fact they are part of the BBU's longest stables adds a little fuel to the first as both girls will have big backing and no room to hide why they have lost.
Looking over each fighters careers, Alex has been fighting in the BBU since the organization formed, ironically she was in the title tournament to crown the first ever champion of the welterweights in 2011, making it to the final where she lost to original champion and Hall of Famer Sabrina Washington.
Since then she has had mixed success, going on long runs of victories and defeats but never really getting back into title contention till now after beating Elena Santarelli in round 1.
Jameela meanwhile has been fighting intermittently over the years, making her debut in 2013 by beating Sophie Ellis Bextor, she would go 4 and 1 in her first year, after that she would fight only 2 more times.
Due to that lack of action; she has never been in the title hunt till this tournament, where her record rightfully got her in and her win over Su-Ellise Nash proved.
Fighting wise, Jameela will of course try to use that height and reach advantage to dance around Alex, hope to wear her out due to Mrs Gerrard being older, before finishing her in the later rounds.
Alex will look to rough up Jameela early, get to the inside and rip away to the body, while her opponent will most likely be more mobile, if Alex gets her onto the ropes, she will power through her to victory.
That is why I am going an Alex victory, she has the more experience and I believe power, I can see Alex winning in the 5th by knockout.

Jourdan Dunn vs Catherine Tyldesley Tale of the Tape: Jourdan Dunn: Age: 27 Height: 6'0 Record: 4-0 (4 kos) Vs Catherine Tyldesley: Age: 34 Height: 5'7 Record: 10-6 (10 kos)
The battle of the young upstart as she takes on the grizzled veteran you could call this fight, this fight has an added grudge fight that should spice things up nicely it can be argued.
Jourdan has been a revelation since her debut in 2014, going unbeaten in her career so far after crushing Rosie Whiteman in just 3 rounds to start her list of destruction.
She has added Daisy Lowe, the always tough Manuela Arcuri and to start this tournament off; a 6th round knockout of her friend and now former stablemate Sabrina Washington to get to this fight.
While Catherine has been around the boxing ring since 2011, beating Jaye Jacobs in 5 rounds to start her own career off with a bang.
One that would lead her to fight for the welterweight title here in just her 4th fight! That was a loss to Sabrina Washington, the first of her career at that time and would lead to their careers being linked together.
While Catherine would beat Danielle Miller in a 7 round war to get to this stage of the tournament, she will always be known as the woman who retired Sabrina in their third fight to the dismay of the BBU and the Beever's Babe's, hence the bad blood between these two women.
Fighting style, Jourdan will use her height early to barrage Catherine to her face, hope to use her power to knock her into a stupor before finally landing one of her trademark haymaker to end the fight.
While of course Catherine needs to keep the pressure on the younger women from the bell, if she let's Jourdan get off the hook early on, then she will be suffering all night long.
I am going Jourdan to win, Catherine is going to feel the wrath of the youngster and this could be a short fight, I'll go 4th round knockout for Jourdan.

Karen Gillan vs Joan Smalls Tale of the tape: Karen Gillan: Age: 29 Height: 5'11 Record: 4-8 (4 kos) Vs Joan Smalls: Age: 29 Height: 5'10 1/2 Record: 3-0 (3 kos)
Both these fighters had a few words after the first round of this tournament, so it will be interesting to see which of these two can keep their word.
Karen has been a big name in the FCBA and the BBU since 2011, she would lose to Bridget Regan, let's be clear lots of people do, she also lost her BBU debut too to Nicola McLean.
Ironically it was the FCBA revival tournament that set Karen onto a good run, winning 2 of her 3 fights in that tournament, so she has experience of tournament form, beating Peta Todd to get this far in this tournament.
Joan meanwhile is unbeaten, beating Jaye Jacobs on her debut a year ago in 7 rounds, then beating Sophie Howard in 6 to get to this stage of the tournament.
Her last stay busy fight saw her crush Toni Collette in just 2 rounds, but that isn't honestly much to go off and this is being viewed as the toughness fight for Smalls.
Fight wise, Karen is surprisingly quick for a welterweight, she moves like a lightweight so she will look to confuse her opponent, try to expose that chin for the first real time in her opponents head and take the unbeaten streak away.
Joan will look to win with her power, she might not be the biggest punching welter, but she isn't far off and that is where she is going to beat Karen, if she forces her to go toe to toe.
That is why I am going Joan, though this could be a late round, maybe 8th round knockout but Karen has a good chance of upsetting the odds here.

Jaye Jacobs vs Nicola McLean Tale of the Tape: Jaye Jacobs: Age: 35 Height: 5'8 Record: 11-12 (10 kos) Vs Nicola McLean: Age: 36 Height: 5'10 Record: 11-6 (10 kos)
This is the toughest fight in my humble opinion to pick whose going to win, both have similar records and have been pillars of the BBU welterweight division.
Jaye battered Keeley Hawes in 2 rounds to win her debut back in 2011, maybe forebodingly she would lose in the BBU welterweight title tournament of 2011 to crown the first ever champ in the quarter finals, this is her hoping to rectify that.
She has been around the title contention through her career and got this far by beating Hayley McQueen in 5 rounds.
Hayley would also win her debut, beating Jaye's stablemate Wunmi Mosaku in just 1 round to show people that she is the real deal.
It get this far in the tournament, she beat Tamsin Egerton with a 7th round knockout, in what was a fiery back and forth exchange between the good friends.
Fight wise, these two will go toe to toe I believe from the off, they are both power punchers with Nicola maybe having the slight advantage due to her height allowing her to work at long range when she needs time to breath.
That is why I am going Nicola by 7 round knockout, but this is so tight physically, record wise and their toughness, this to me is fight of the night guys.

"Not a bad one, Tom! But putting physical toughness and glamour model is the same sentence is quite bold! Okay, maybe if Nicola was like 10 years younger Still, 75% prediciton record is acceptable for an expert like you!"
