With this being a big event in the area, the press conference was held at St. James Park on a crispy day, both women heading onto the hollowed pitch for photos, facing off with each other and Cheryl holding the title in Marnie's face.
After the photos are done; both women are happy when they going inside to one of the clubs boxes where the press conference can truly begin.
Marnie is given the nod to speak first, straight away she goes after her opponent "Finally I get what I have been after, a shot at the title and at this f***ing fake bytch, you're only proud of where you come from when it suits you pet!"
Cheryl just smirks and shakes her head, with Marnie continuing "I am proud to be a true Geordie, I'd never leave here because this is what made me who I am, So let me speak in our native tongue and tell ya that Ah will prove ah am the best in the north east an' in the world"
The champ simply puts her title belt on the table and replies "Marnie pet, you are talkin' to the woman who got thrown off American X-Factor because they couldn't understand me, so don't talk b******s!"
"The simple fact is you are jealous; I moved out of here and am a world famous singer, I nivvor see you on the cards I go on pet for a reason" Cheryl mocks Marnie, who scowls at her.
She picks up her title and finishes by holding it above her head and finishes with "this is why I'M the best in the world! So go f*** yourself!"
Marnie doesn't take that kindly as she gets right into the face of Cheryl, both exchange insults as they look ready to blow up, security and coaches needed to pull them back.
But Marnie takes a cheap shot of sorts by tossing water from a glass at Cheryl, leading to in the commotion both getting free and go for the others hair in a snarling catfight.
Both reliving nights on the town as they tumble to the ground and security struggles to get the snarling pair apart, with them finally pulled apart and taken out the room still spitting insults at each other.
Fight night; out comes the challenger Marnie first down the aisle, stopping to bump fists with her friends Holly Hagan and Chantelle Connelly in the front row.
She is wearing a black sports bra, tight black shorts, shoes and gloves, with her hair braided for battle as she steps into the ring.
Marnie struts around the ring with her arms in the air, before pouting as she poses in the ring center to loud cheers from her friends and family.
The champ now comes out with her coach Mel B by her side, Cheryl marches down to the ring wearing a Newcastle United shirt with Cole 9 on the back.
Mel helps Cheryl take her shirt off to reveal the title around her waist and that she is wearing a black sports bra, black and white striped trunks, black shoes, black gloves with white thumbs and her hair in a ponytail.
Climbing into the ring; Cheryl poses at the center of the ring, hands on hips with the title on show as her eyes are locked on Marnie, then Mel takes the title off her and hands it to the referee as Cheryl heads to her corner to warm up.
Duelling chants ring out around the venue as the fighters come to the ring center, the referee making sure to stay between the fighters as they trade taunts.
When they are told to touch gloves; they swipe them together and jog over to their corners, ready to start 10 rounds of BBU flyweight title action.
"Ding" out comes Marnie it seems on a mission as she comes flying out her corner, looking like she has surprised Cheryl with her intensity as the champ is knocked back towards the ropes.

Marnie seems to realise she needs to settle down somewhat late in the round, using her jab more to measure up Cheryl, then stepping in tight to land a right across the cheek of the champ.
The final part of the round sees both women let their hands go in close range; with fists striking across the others cheeks and sides of body.
The bell rings with Cheryl smirking as she returns to her corner, telling Mel "this bytch is too stupid to be in here with me, I'll clock her soon enough and be in the bars celebrating"
Cheryl starts off strong; dipping under punches from Marnie so she can move in close, working the body of Marnie with well drilled body attacks.
Marnie though starts boxing off the back foot, seeming to take advice from her coach as she starts throwing her jab more to measure up Cheryl.
Leading to Marnie now the one taking control of the action; when Cheryl dips down, she is getting caught on top of the head to keep her on the outside.
Marnie showing off quick footwork to keep on the move, confusing Cheryl with where she is going to be, as punches dig into the top of the champs head.
Cheryl times her attack; then waits for Marnie to move left into a left hook from her, then steps in to drive Marnie onto the ropes with a flurry of punches aimed at her head.
The challenger needing to cover up; while Cheryl turns her attention back to the body of Simpson, drilling away to the abs of her fellow Geordie to make her groan out.
The bell rings with Cheryl scowling at Marnie, upset that Marnie took that round, a clear lack of respect as Cheryl tells Mel that she can't believe what happened.
Marnie meanwhile waving her fist at her friends as she smiles, she looks cool now after a shaky start to the fight.
Both fighters come out quickly now; trading single punches as they can be seen glaring from behind their gloves as they circle.
Cheryl soon parries a straight and comes lunging in with a right cross that Marnie dances back out the way of.
The fighters cancel each other out, parrying and countering as they move around the ring, their faces are getting marked up from the stinging punches they are landing.
The champ slips under a left cross, coming up with an overhand left that pushes Marnie onto her heels, with Cheryl banging a three punch combo into the face of her opponent to knock her back.

Marnie comes out on the front foot; with Cheryl looking a little worried as she doesn't do much more then keep her guard tight and keep on the move.
The challenger stalks her around the champ around the ring; Marnie slamming her punches off the gloves of Cheryl.

The round soon ends with Marnie mocking Cheryl, telling her "I thought you were the best, what a load of shit!" As Cheryl glares at her and the referee steps between them.
When she returns to her corner; Cheryl gets yelled at by Mel, telling her to remind the world why she is the best by knocking this bytch out.
While Marnie's corner is much more relaxed, getting sweat washed down and told to simply keep her work rate up to win this.
Again Marnie looks to come out the stronger, landing several shots through to the top of her opponent's head to keep her on the outside as the fighters trade.
Cheryl looks more fired up though as she slips under a right and comes inside with a left shoulder barge, followed by an overhand right across her cheek.
The champion looks to have her confidence back, happy to trade in close with Marnie as she keeps her head down and works the body of Cole.
Marnie needing to shove her back, then rifling a double jab onto the bloody lips of the champ to force her to retreat back.
Back and forth goes control of the fight; each time Cheryl starts to get traction on the inside, Marnie presses her back after nudging her back, landing punches off the marked up face of Cole.

Cheryl drives Marnie onto the ropes, where the fighters slug it out till the round ends seconds later, the referee nudging the fighters apart as they exchange words.
When Cheryl gets back to her corner this time; Mel telling her fighter "that's what the crowd paid to see, this title is yours, so don't dare lose to that bytch!"
Across the ring; Marnie's coach tells her "nothing to worry about yet, but you need to keep your focus OK?" With Marnie nodding as she bangs her gloves together.
Cheryl looks to get inside quickly; trading single punches with Marnie dancing back and throwing counter punches off the top of the champs head.
When Cheryl tries to slip inside; Marnie sidesteps her and lands a right across the head of Cheryl to open her up, the challenger drilling several punches into the face of Cole.
Cheryl letting out a cry of frustration as she moves back, Marnie landing two punches straight to the bloody lips of Cheryl to ruin her mood some more.
But as Marnie tries to push forwards on, she misses with a right hook as Cheryl slips under it, then gets hit with a right under her ribs.
The fighters slug it out in close; with Marnie needing to step back and lands another double jab, this time to the top of her opponent's head to force her back.
Marnie managing to keep Cheryl back with her punches finding gaps through the champions gloves to knock her head back.
The round ends with Marnie looking happy with herself as she heads to her corner, enjoying the blood stains on her gloves from Cheryl's lips.
The champ on the other hand bangs her gloves together, telling Mel that she can still win this, making her coach smile as the Lioness Club corner has to focus on patching the champ up.
Marnie looks to keep the pressure on Cheryl, moving around her and slams her left jab into the face of the champ to keep her towards the outside of the ring.
Cheryl covering up as Marnie slams punches into her guard, with the champion dipping under a straight and comes up with an overhand left cracking Simpson to the side of her head.

The dying seconds of the round sees Marnie throw a wild right that Cheryl easily dips under, coming back with an overhand right and an uppercut that rocks Simpson back.
The round ends with Cheryl and Marnie scowling at the other as they catch their breath, bumping past each other as they head to their corners.
Sitting on their stools with their corner teams working hard to patch up the fighters up, both corners chatting about what they need to do to win this.
As both fighters start trading; it's clear both are hurting as they get clipped to their cuts and wince, Marnie landing the cleaner shots of the two to keep Cheryl back.
Cheryl starts feinting though and then moves to the left of Marnie to slam a right across the cut on the left side of Marnie's face.

Cheryl pulls the win out after a tough fight with Marnie, the champ having to lean against the turnbuckles in the neutral corner as tiredness washes over her.
While the ringside doctor checks on Marnie, putting smelling salts under her nose to waken her up, with Marnie holding her chin as she asks what happened.
As soon as Marnie realises the answer; she starts sobbing into her gloves, with Holly Hagan and Chantelle Connelly rushing into the ring to check her.
Cheryl heads over to her corner and mocks them by saying "don't worry girls, I know you all love to be on your backs" leading to Holly standing and getting into Cheryl's face.
After some shoving; Mel gets involved to shove Holly, leading to them starting to fight to a roar from the fans as the girls trade hair pulls and slaps.
Cheryl tries to get involved and gets punched by Chantelle, leading to Lioness Club members and Cheryl's former bandmates Kimberly Walsh, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts charging the ring from the locker room.
Sarah and Kimberly tackle Chantelle down to the canvas, while Nicola pulls Holly off Mel and gets a slap for her troubles from the Geordie Shore star.
Security intervenes to separate the two warring groups, with guards lining up across the center of the ring to stop any more scuffles taking place.
All the while this was happening; Marnie was helped to her stool by her coach and had to watch the fighting as her cut eyelid was patched up.
The Geordie Shore girls help their fallen friend out the ring to the back, clearly not happy with the way things have went down.
Even as ringside pundits give Marnie a ringing endorsement after this fight, she was very close through the middle rounds of upsetting Cheryl and claiming the title.
Instead it's Cheryl in the ring getting the belt attached around her waist by her coach Mel after she tears the title out of the referees hands.
Cheryl proudly proclaiming "I'm the best fighter in this ring period!" To a lot of cheers, only a few boos from the Marnie fans.
The Lioness crew leave the ring together, looking not their usual dazzling self's due to the fighting they've all done, but all strutting up the ramp as they look to have sent a message to others stables not to f*** with them.
