Jodi:
(33, 5’8, 2:1 BBU, The Metermaids)

BEFORE:
Danielle ‘Dani’ Robertson still fresh off win over Gigi Midgley back in March of this year, whereas Jodi Gordon not having much luck after succumbing to Elisabetta Gregoraci's power last time out, the girl not having a win to her name since 2017. Still, stranger things have happened, and at least Gordon can boast about a positive win-loss ratio compared to her Aussie counterpart.
“Sure, I’m a little jealous that Dani’s had so many opportunities to fight. What am I, chopped liver?” Gordon flashing a smile at the assembly of reporters pre-fight. “That being said, it speaks volumes that her record ain’t exactly stellar. I suspect that tonight’s the night I break my losing streak with a win over her.”
“You suspect wrong, then,” Danielle replying immediately, that thick Aussie accent coming through. She’s smiling confidently from the other end of the table, already stripped down to a white bikini and looking ready to back her words up. “I’ve had some losses in 2017, but this year’s been going absolutely well for me. I don’t plan on letting Jodi here spoil my party.”
Girls face off and from the onset, it’s looking troubling for Gordon, with that three-inch height disadvantage not going to do her any favours. She’s still meeting Dani’s stare headon in her purple floral print bikini, red gloves placed on either side of her waistline. This is another classic battle brought to you by two Aussie stunners! Referee rings the bell and HERE we go with ten rounds of Lightweight action!
ROUND 1:
Dani dominating early with her long legs and fast movements, showing great promise for someone with her size advantage. Jodi however no slouch either, keeping well and away at the possibility of getting knocked the f*ck out in the very first round. Jodi done her homework, knows her smaller size dictating that she constantly move away. Dani’s punches therefore not landing as often as she’d like them to, finding trouble dealing with her older but faster counterpart. Jodi landing some choice cuts to the face in the closing seconds, finally exploiting Dani’s eagerness with punishing jabs. There’s a big smile on her face by the time the bell rings - she knows for a fact that this was the perfect opening for her comeback.
ROUND 2:.
More of the same as Dani continues to get picked off from afar. It’s not the fact that the big Australian’s keeping herself still and stationary. But more so she’s failing to adapt to Jodi’s tactics, keeping those hooks swinging when they’re barely landing as it is. Jodi manages a grunt as another double combo to her guard lands hard, then a side-swing into her body leaves her doubting her strategy for a split second, and it gives Robertson more fuel to rush inwards to try and land more successive shots. But Jodi ain’t hurt just yet. She jumps backwards, before planting a right hand straight into Dani’s cheek again, then unleashing a follow up flurry into all parts of her body. The abuse is definitely starting to add up for Dani, who’s left panting hard when these next three minutes are done and done.
ROUND 3:
FINALLY she’s listening to her Head Trainer, Henry Carvill, although we wonder whether it’s too late for the big girl to change things around. Dani staying put in her corner and leaving Jodi to come get her instead. But the Siren doesn't get the memo that it ain’t simply about letting your foe come to you in order to spring your trap. Jodi senses it from a mile away and simply keeps her distance early on, continuing to land punches on her guard before hurting the brunette badly by pounding on that work-out body of hers. Dani’s having trouble defending both her top and bottom, those jabs to her lips sending her back-wheeling and covering up, not knowing how else she can play the rest of this fight. Advance and she gets an earful. But doing the opposite nets her the same result. Gordon cleaning house as she lands another barrage straight to the Aussie’s midsection, beating that body like a drum. Dani’s abs can only take so much damage before they give way completely, and unless she turns things around soon, this may yet be the most terrible fight she’s been in!
ROUND 4:
More grunts from the Instagram-babe’s lips as Gordon WITH an aggressive advance in the first minute or so, coming in hot and hounding with feint shock blows to her guard, before going after her real assets: more leather pounding on the belly as Jodi bobs left and weaves right, then sending shockwaves through the side as her hooks land one after another. Second minute of this abuse and DANI GOES DOWN TO ONE KNEE, that last combo folding over in half - she lets out a deep, guttural grunt, confirming the KNOCKDOWN for Jodi Gordon as she puts the big girl down early in the fourth!
Impressive feat from the older woman by showing she ain’t afraid to out-punch her younger counterpart. Hearing from her later on, she’ll reiterate the fact that all these ‘young punks’ are full of confidence, but whether they demonstrate any semblance of strategy in their fighting remains to be seen. What Dani lacks in smarts, however, she more than makes up for it in terms of physicality. Still panting hard,, she climbs back up to her feet by the count of 8, that beautiful body straining and glistening with sweat but still very much alive.
Rest of the round and Jodi attempts to finish off her handiwork, going after the same targets that served her well thus far. It doesn’t work as intended, however. Robertson maintaining her distance this time, focusing on defensive moves instead of trying to mix it up with her offense and thereby failing at both. Bell rings and Jodi with plenty to celebrate for herself but securing this final win is not one of them.
ROUND 5:
You can’t blame Robertson, of course, for trying to use what she’s good at: pure brawling power packed in that frame of hers. It’s only natural for the Australian to want to try and dominate with heavy punches from the get-go. But it’s also a testament to how much this girl has LEARNT in the ring over the past year or so as she starts the fifth refusing to charge forward. Instead, she’s giving Gordon a run for her money by snapping a few jabs straight into her nostrils when she's not looking, that priceless look of shock and surprise on Gordon’s face captured by all the cameras. They ain’t gonna be the same match-ending shots that Dani’s known for, but heck if they’ve succeeded in giving her some food for thought as she pauses and is forced to reevaluate how the rest of this fight might play out.
ROUND 6:
Might we see a stunning resurgence here from one girl? Dani certainly hopes so. She’s stinging Jodi on the face and lips much more often, forcing her to cover up and alter her attack strategy. Make no mistake - Jodi still taking those body shots whenever she can afford to, drawing painful grunts from Dani’s lips. But those punches are starting to cost her deeply, with Dani mixing up her jab-warfare with some hooks out of nowhere, sending Gordon reeling to the sidelines on multiple occasions. They’re still landing on her forearms and failing to make an impact where it truly hurts, but arguably, one could say that Jodi’s fragile psyche is Dani’s intended target in the first place, and she sure as hell succeeds in spooking her by the end of these three minutes.
ROUND 7:
Gordon’s vulnerabilities are beginning to show as we enter the last quarter of this fight. Ten years apart is plenty to work with, and while Dani has suffered at the hands of the older woman for arguably the majority of this fight, you’d be hard pressed to see that same one-sidedness here in the seventh. Jodi in full retreat as she becomes wary of Dani’s increasingly frequent thrown hooks at her head. One of those landing is enough to end the fight, and imagine being battered on the ear and arms repeatedly this round, your body spun around like a plaything in the wind. Dani mixing it up further with more straight punches into her mouth, lightning speed for someone who’s more well known to power through her opponent. Jodi letting out a panicked yelp when another flurry cuts into her upper lip, sending her sprawling back into the ropes. Here comes Robertson, cautious advance turning into a full blown pounce! Jodi getting bent over as Dani takes her revenge on her body, but the guard still weathering majority of the abuse as Dani dominates but fails to put her foe down. It’s clear that things aren’t looking good for one girl, however, with the medics trying to patch up that cut lip in between rounds for Gordon.
ROUND 8:
But it simply proves too much for the older woman! She’s barely out of the gate in the eight when Dani barrels forward and SHOCKS her upper torso with a right hand to the ribs, paralysing her body in pain. Another left to her open face sends flecks of red flying into the air, and DOWN JODI GOES onto her side with a THUD! This HAS to be it!
Dani’s chest pounding hard as she takes a moment to register her accomplishment: Jodi squirming on the ground at her feet, attempting to reach the ropes to pull herself back up to salvation. Referee reaching the mid-count and the older woman is still surprising everyone in the arena by actually making some good progress! The audience lets out a gasp of shock when she makes it up to two feet by the count of 9! Dani herself throwing up her hands into the air as though thinking ‘REALLY?!?’
But Jodi ain’t looking that great, honestly - her face now bloodied from that cut lip staining and smearing her skin red, and the referee first has to invite the doctor to take a look to see whether this fight can continue. Jodi showing plenty of courage by appearing to stand steady and upright, her head nodding forward continually at the question of whether she wants to continue but her eyes fluttering in the wind. But the medic waves her stubborn attitude off, claiming that the cut on her lip is too bad for her to continue fighting! It’s over just like that!
Official Decision: Danielle Robertson defeats Jodi Gordon via TKO8 in a very hard-fought battle!
AFTER:
Another TKO win for Dani Robertson as she proves that her power, when used wisely, can be put to devastating use. Even though she didn’t manage to secure a knockout victory, she’s more than elated and relieved in her corner, immediately slumping down to her stool and letting her team check on her.
Jodi understandably still swaying about in fight-mode, trying to advance on Dani’s position even though the bell has already rung and the referee and ring officials blocking her path forward. She’s meekly raising her voice, protesting the official decision to stop this fight prematurely. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have much sympathy from the audience, who take one long look at her bloodied face and agree with the decision to put her out of her own misery. Better luck next time, babe.
Overall, one hell of a back-and-forth between worthy competitors, and let’s hope that they both get a chance to settle things properly in the future!
