BEFORE: Both these models have struggled for exposure in recent months and are largely overshadowed by more active compatriots & stable teammates alike. Jennifer Hawkins is in danger of losing her ACB lightweight mojo to JMDD-bound Krystal Forscutt while Kelly Gale plays second string not only to BBU lightweight champion Alessandra Ambrosio but also Sara Sampaio who has even enjoyed a debut FCBA outing earlier this season. A loss here on the Boxing Day PPV and either Hawkins or Gale could drop into forgotten gatekeepers' category instead of targeting immediate silverware success. The time is on Gale's side but Hawkins could well be cashing in on her last elite ticket tonight. The pressure to win is felt all around the Wembley Stadium and neither girl wastes time on useless taunting or trash-talking during the introductions. It's strictly business approach save for the steely death stares present in both models' eyes.

Rounds 1 & 2:
Pressure affects both ladies in the opening two rounds as they struggle to connect with more than mere single punches most of the way and even Kelly's youth doesn't make the difference as she remains lethargic in her mobility which visibly upsets the coaching tandem of Lauren Berlingeri and Taryn Terrell. Jennifer's reputation of a power punches probably has something to do with it but maybe explains why Sara Sampaio has distanced the raven-haired Swede on the Girls Friday percking order. There's little to cherish when it comes to Kelly's performance who applies way too much earmuff defense which slowly but surely fuels Hawkins' attacks. The Aussie model draws ire of her own coach - Nikki Visser - but her half-hearted hooking efforts win little praise from the Wembley audience and both girls enjoy lukewarm support once the opening six minutes of this bout are finally over.
Round 3:
Nikki Visser triggers the first noteworthy change of mindset in the ring as Jennifer jumps into an aggressive hooking attack that suddenly spells trouble for the shockingly sluggish Swedish babe. Kelly soaks up a leather heave over the top and slides onto her heels while the Aussie model cracks several punches into her exposed ribcage before shifting upstairs to connect with the chin. She rattles the cumbersome foe behind another earmuff and drives her into the corner where she keeps piling more pressure downstairs which proves to be a successful strategy to enutralize Gale wholesale. The lanky brunette responds with a steady jabbing series from behind the guard but Hawkins is glued to her torso and even clips some jug to make the younger model groan in pain come the final minute. This fuels more Aussie juice and Jennifer powers through on the navel to bend the embattled youngster into more misery right at the bell with the crowd finally enjoying some good boxing action.
Round 4:
Jennifer tries to build on her momentum and bullies the brunette around the ring during the opening minute. Kelly shows her best mobility tools to date but basically forfeits the cards according to Denise van Outen in the booth. The judges won't like that defensive route but Hawkins thinks this one could be over when she literally nails the Swede with a single series now: "Come here, you little coward!", she tries to pump herself up for a highlight reel punch but flies just above the brunette's shoulder and eats a brutal hook on the jaw instead which triggers a powerful recovery from the Swedish babe. Kelly barks in her efforts as she smacks crisp jabs into the blonde's face before she belts her on the liver area and drops into loud spasms completely against the run of play. Huh! Jennifer sinks on her knees and finds herself soaking up point-blank range abuse that hoofs her mitts aside and drives her butt-in-ropes when Gale pummels her in relentless fashion to snap the blonde ponytail around her nack. Ugh! Hawkins fails to embrace the heat and disappears behind a tight earmuff whereas Kelly screams out her frustration when she keeps pounding away at her until the bell finally interrupts her charge.
Round 5:
We finally have genuine fireworks in the fifth as both girls channel the grudge route and bash each other in the center of the ring. The cautious approach is thrown out of the window and Denise van Outen fears a single punch or two can drop one of these hellcats into serious trouble now. And it's Hawkins who finds trouble when she gets scythed across her nasal ridge to open a bloody patch... Ugh! She screams in pain when she notices the seeping wound but it only fuels the brunette's efforts as she WHACKS her straight up and connects with the jaw from both flanks. Jennifer drops to her heels but still wants to swing it over the top; Kelly rides the youth reflex and lands the punch first though as she slams another hook into the blonde's mouth before blasting her on the breasts a couple of times. Hawkins wobbles forward with a whimper but fails to lock a clinch since Gale DRILLS her jaw with another uppercut TO SEND THE AUSSIE STUNNER TUMBLING DOWN on her back moments later. Lauren Berlingeri almost climbs the ropes in delight and Jennifer doesn't recover from this hit until the count reaches eight. She quickly finds more Swedish leather bashing her through the middle as Kelly goes all-in and bursts the blonde's nostrils into more blood-seeping nightmare. Hawkins can't even escape into mid-range safety as Kelly yells at her while picking her off and spewing blood all over the canvas now! Huh! Nobody saw this coming and when Jennifer squeals her loudest, the ref rushes in to stop the one-sided beating on cuts! Even coach Visser doesn't object to this decision as Hawkins bends against the ropes and stares down at the bloody marks under her feet. TKO5 Kelly Gale!!!
AFTER: The victorious Swede is shocked herself over the bloody stoppage and doesn't react to the wild response from her coaching staff until her name is called by the announcer. She tries to embrace the vanquished Australian but gets shoved away by Nikki Visser who is anything but satisfied with Hawkins' elite career seemingly heading down the gutter. Meanwhile Lauren B. and Taryn Terrell keep mocking the Downunder entourage until Kelly tells 'em to stop it. Over in the BBU TV booth Denise van Outen questions just how good Kelly can be if she finally steps from Alessandra Ambrosio's shadows? She has similar tools to Sara Sampaio and perhaps even a bigger punch but she's been held back through various circumstances and maybe tonight's success finally lets her loose on the path to boxing stardom! Judging by Wembley's response, she's got plenty of fans to support her elite bid as well! Just make it happen, gurl!
